Glad to hear I wasn’t the only one a bit disappointed with Circe. I really wanted to love it but I just didn’t connect with it most of the time. I’ve heard you say you have mixed feelings on Stephen king before and you should totally do a whole video dedicated to that! I just finished my first Stephen king book and I despised it with such passion that I refuse to read any other book he’s written. When I was younger and he was the first horror I was ever allowed to read, I loved him. As I got older I realized how little I enjoy his writing style ( unnecessary amounts of description and pop culture) his characters ( it’s like he only know how to write the same three people) and his indecisiveness ( he seems to try to simultaneously be literary and appeal to the masses, but he doesn’t want to be too intellectual, so we end up talking about baseball 🙄). He takes good ideas and ruins them with cliche characters or take good characters and ruins them with cliche plots. His pacing is terrible, at least in his novels. The exposition and build up takes forever and the endings wrap up too fast. And I’ve never really been scared by anything he writes, probably because everything is so cliched. Sorry for the rant, but I too don’t get the hype surrounding this man’s writing.
