I saw someone saying once that Rin from The Poppy War is a like a train wreck that you just can't look away. That's exactly how I felt reading that series. Rin would do something and I would just look at the page for a couple of minutes and be like "girl........". She's still one of my favorite main characters to this day.

About Annie Wilkes. Stephen King's Tommyknockers is about a woman who is a cowboy western novel writer who finds a ... on her property. Her sister shows up midway through the novel and she reminds me so much of Annie Wilkes that I pictured her as looking like Kathy Bates. 🪓🪓🪓

Colleen Hoover jump scare😂😂😂Verity freaking rules! I think you might enjoy Alice's Island, it's about a woman who takes.... questionable measures to uncover her dead husband's secret life. It's more slowly, quietly unhinged, but the hinges are for sure off! Also: Death of a Bookseller, Roach is such an unhinged little weirdo but I could NOT look away

Sounds like I need to try The Poppy War again while I hesitantly tiptoe through fantasy. Its not my genre anymore but you have me intrigued. Temper is still on my TBR but the rest are excellent, so many 5 stars. You gotta read Maeve Fly!!

please, please, read Maeve Fly,, the cover is wonderful, the story is good, and MAEVE IS THE QUEEN OF UNHINGED WOMEN. I'm no ashamed to say I was rooting for her through all pages of the book. I bought, but haven read yet: Nightbitch, by Rachel Yoder, and Motherthing by Ainslie Hogarth, so I don't know if its a "good for her" or "love reading the book, but straight to jail" situation. The covers are gorgeous, too (maybe the more unhinged the woman is, they get the coolest covers)

I got so scared reading Misery I couldn’t finish it 🫣😂. There is a part of my bathroom I still get scared when cleaning because I was listening to a particularly stressful scene and I pulled my AirPods out and ran out of the bathroom gloves full of bathroom cleaner 😅

I have never read or seen Misery but my husband took me to the local theatre in our small town and we saw the play. It was interesting and I definitely need to read/watch the movie now! I am hoping to in October. 🪓🪓🪓
