i read the seven year slip and then the bodyguard not long after and both of those were 6 stars to me- i love them so much and i definitely agree they give off the same feeling!!

Felt the same about Fear the Flame! I gave it 3 stars. Felt disorganized at times and like the plot picked up at the end. I also guessed about the bad guy and felt the romance was lowkey insta love lol I heard that in the republished version there will be edits to make it better.

omg yeah i agree with everything you said!! defo relatively slow, but still somehow slightly lacking in world building?? was so fun tho!! i’m very intrigued to see what edits are made

I enjoyed it. It’s very plot focused (still giving lots of character moments, but there’s not much of any romance). I’ve only read the first book, but I do want to get to the second book sometime this year. It didn’t feel like a mind blowingly new story, but it was fairly entertaining and had similar writing to Cassandra Clare if you’ve read the Shadowhunter books. I think I rated it four stars. I would still reread it in the future as well.

i defo didn’t dislike it loads, it’s just a very ‘meh’ book to me. think i read it back in 2020 so i don’t remember much but i do remember dragging myself through it. think it just didn’t really hook me!! loaaaads of people have loved it though so i hope you do too!!

i feel you on the slump, i'm struggling through books 🥲also agree with your thoughts on fear the flames and wish the romance was more slow burn but i'm also PRETTY sure the new published version is having some additional elements/plot points added which I think it needs xx

Hey this has nothing to do with this video but I saw on your Goodreads that you rated the balled of never after 2 stars. Without spoiling it can you tell me why? Because I read the first one and loved it! I’m gonna read the second one soon and have only seen good things about it 4 or 5 stars. Except for what you rated it and I’m curious to see why you rated it that. Also got should do more of these types of videos.

no problem!! i read the first one and reaaally disliked it, and felt the exact same way about this one. mainly i just don’t vibe with the writing, it feels too ‘young’ for me!! so i think if you loved the first one you’ll definitely love the second one🤍
