OMG I love that you take a bubble bath every night. 😍 That is so extra, and I feel like it tells me a lot about you as a person. I totally understand the dilemma to make everything perfect vs. just putting out content and being okay with knowing you're going to get better. I have three amazing friends that we formed a book club together but outside of that… no one really gets my love for reading. Also, I had that exact same bedtime stories book as a kid! Welcome to the community! I also struggled with trying to make sure videos were perfect before publishing them and that resulted in publishing very little content that required a ton of time and the content was dry/boring because I was more focused on being perfect than being myself. I didn't actually see improvement (or channel growth) until I changed my mindset to "I just need to create content and learn from mistakes."

Your shelves are decorated so adorably! I have a few of the same faux plants as you. Before editing- my videos never seem to be concise. It’s just a bunch of incoherent babbling with a few points being made in between. 😂 My newbie tag is the worst (I’m sure due to nerves) it’s going live Monday evening and I’m contemplating deleting it and redoing the whole thing because I go off topic so much. After filming I have had 3 hours of footage to cut through, with only maybe 10-15 minutes being usable. Makes for very choppy videos, but I’ll get there. You will too. I’m glad I found your channel. 🙂

Hi Rachel, welcome to booktube! :) I've never heard anyone answer the question "what questions would you ask you favorite booktubers" the way you did. cool! I'm not a youtube creator, but in all my past university and work-related projects I asked myself similar questions ("how good is good enough?", "when is it ok to conclude a project?" etc), and being a bit of a perfectionist wasn't always helpful. Finally, what did the trick for me was to realize that aiming for a "90% done" is almost always good enough. the remaining "10% to perfection" come with an unreasonable amount of required work and are usually not as interesting/motivating as the first 90% of any project.
