Doing the install right now and I cant get the two 10mm nuts off from under the assembly it just keeps spinning...any suggestions?

mbevan08 hahaha I still Havnt been able to get mine off, my engine actually blew on me a few weeks back so I’m getting that taken care of. But what I’ve been thinking of trying is getting some jb weld and putting some small nuts to the top of the bolt to have something to grip on. Cuz all 4 bolts spin.

@@spitfire209 sorry to hear that. So I managed to do the job without removing the full assembly from the vehicle. I removed the sub-assembly from the vehicle and I actually thought it was fairly easy. I didn't document the process but its pretty straight forward. Just skip the part where you have to remove the full assembly from the vehicle and start with removing the sub-assembly. Hope that helps anyone searching through the comments like I did!

Long time. I just installed this short throw in my wrx but it’s hard to go into 5th and 6th gear. Is that a problem that you had and if so, how did you fix it ?

I couldn't get the lastof the 2 bolts off on the bottom to take out the OEM shifter. It kept on turning the top part where it holds in the shift stop. Any fix to it?

Gorilla glue that bitch then one quick motion drill gun it off or screw through it and unscrew it out “screw out” I have this issue myself..

That screw with the lock washer for the side shifter assembly.. can’t get it tightened whatsoever.. any tips?

At 11:59 does that metal piece that a bolt needs to go into. Does that belong there or where. I was working on this today and that piece fell off and have no idea where it goess

shop wanted to charge me $600-800 to get this installed in my car.. i'm on the fence about it

Its alot of Labor to install but I'd say if you have a friend to help and a lift than do it yourself. It's not to bad and gives you something to do if you have a few hrs

How the hell did you remove the bottom nuts without the studs spinning? Or did you get lucky and all 4 broke free no problem?

@@spitfire209 Yeah. I had help but man it was such a pain removing them. My stock shifter just straight up snapped in half under normal use. The new OEM shifter is still going good. (fingers crossed)

@@spitfire209 If Remember right, I had my girlfriend secure and hold vice-grip pliers from the top side and wrenched from the bottom. and even that barely did anything. I believe I ended up yanking that last part of the assembly out in frustration. I've talked to another friend about this and their experience was much easier. idk why those bolts are so damn tight or dont have some anti seize on them.
