Is it advisable to grow them? ) I'm in utah and am extremely paranoid about buying the kind I need. I don't want to use the dark web because I'm old and might get in trouble. Any help would be nice.

@@bradleytenderholt5135grow them yourself and make sure you keep everything sterilized and clean, then you’ll never have to worry about sourcing random strains that you don’t know if they were contaminated or not

@paulameredith4843 I just wonder how far those spores have to travel or where they came from to grow in a random field. In the summer months conditions are ideal for them to grow so that part isn't much of an issue... they really are quite simple to grow Ashley is just very thorough which is excellent for new growers

Thank you! It does not allow you to grow all types mushrooms. Some mushrooms can require different requirements and environments.

A couple of days ago I took my bag out and broke it up and mixed it was two weeks and seemed to be growing slow, so mixed it well most growth on bottom and around the port. Any way mixed it very well and checked it yesterday I had growth all over it little white specks had grown all over in the bag it was great. And I think I will be have a full bag of mycelium soon I have my mono tub and have been watching your videos on how to do that. Can’t wait. Thanks so much.

Do you recommend using coco coir for a casing layer after the tub is colonized or prefer going without?

No, I no longer recommend a casing. I think my tubs do better without them and I can fruit faster which gives me a better flush.

I think you have absolutely the best video for beginners out there and I have done things exactly the way that you said and it worked out great. I used uncle Ben’s and it worked perfectly. The only problem is you can’t see what’s going on as well, but it’s so inexpensive. Would you do a video on that? Also, I don’t see a video on how to make a spore syringe. Maybe I missed it. And if you make these, can you show how to do these things without all the high-tech options for beginners?

So, it said along the bottom of the screen that you can substitute the inflatable monotub for a 66qt monotub. Is your bulk recipe for 2 x inflatables the same as for 2 x 66qt? Or will you need to adjust the quantities to make more?

It is the same for a 66 qt tub. You can use half the bulk per 66 qt tub.

Ashley, the stickers that came with your monotub are super nifty thank you for that I accidentally ripped a hole in my spawn bag so I switched it to a Mason jar and made a lid the only free jar I had was blue glass the mycelium grew sooo much faster than the other spawn bag I didn't mess up this is only my 1st try so I can't say for sure it's the blue glass but I would imagine the more red spectrum light probably turns more blue that's my theory at least to anybody that has a blue Mason jar laying around and can pressure cook it it may be worth giving a try and see if it works for you too

After a few days in the inflatable monotub I see a very light condensation and mycelium branching out on the top (reaching towards the sky, not just spread across the substrate) should I increase humidity by spraying some cool, boiled water on the walls of the tub? This is about 3-4 days after S2B. It doesn’t look nearly as developed as yours? Granted my bulk substrate to spawn ratio was different. I did a 1.5lb spawn bag to about 175g of coco, 175g of verm, 25g of gypsum. Also I was getting pins up to an inch tall of GT in my spawn bag at the injection port, so maybe I did S2B too late? Also I picked up the tub after S2B and since the bottom isn’t rigid the cake kind of broke apart in some places as the weight dipped in the center, is this problematic at all?
