Boosie shared his thoughts on rapper Tru Life telling VladTV that it's impossible to be a gangster and a rapper at the same time, as the Baton Rouge spitter admits that he got caught up trying to do the same thing. Boosie admits that a lot of rappers have an appeal for the street lifestyle, especially after they make it big and have a means to fulfill a fantasy of being a drug kingpin.
During the interview, Boosie also addressed a shooting in Gardenia, California at the venue of his show, which the media made it look like he kept performing after people were shot. Boosie vehemently denied the claims, saying that he was at his hotel for an hour when he got the news. To hear more, including how he lost his tour after the incident, hit the above clip.

So much of what this guy be talkin about I can relate to on a first-hand basis. That part about drug dealing and how some homies that never made it and the first chance they had with the money they made the right way wanna run back to acting as if they were something they in fa y never were. A fucked up childhood dream I guess, lol!!! I got a first cousin just like that. Boosie you really speak from the heart witch is why your music is so much of a reflection of my life out here. I've been out here and I feel like you really are like my own voice. Keep this music coming!!!

I dead ass wanted to be a trapper when I grew up case they were the only mfs I saw with both money and power. Bruh, I had one pull me to the side like "you got it in you, I see it, just make sure that if you jump out here that you have something to put that paper towards." So, I asked the nigga why he didn't put his paper to something and the nigga told me that the money itself is an addiction and that he was addicted to the cashflow. Cuz wound up doing 15 years (got told on but STILL came out to money) but he has a motherfucking job and a business now. Take from that what you will.

Mr. Dream Maker you miss the point, smh. If you don't have anything to put your money into then don't mess with the game. It is EASY to run up 50k in the streets (in around 6 months) to change your situation.... but these dudes who are well off and have other means of scrubbing their goal or who live off of trapping for years and years are misusing the game. It's here to get in and get out. But, if you want a bigger, more rewarding, challenge then learn the damn law. That will get you paid plus it's sustainable but the learning curve is a bitch and they will try to kill you once you start getting it right. I promise you that. But that's what I put my paper into - gaining knowledge. I spent 4-5 days Sun-Thur in a law library for a little over a year. Now, I can get money with the effort it takes to get a chick's number. Now, I'll fuck a police officer's life up through the federal courts if they want to violate - the same with a bank or any other public official. Bitches want to fuck me just off of what I know. It's crazy

I was raised just outside of Detroit. I lost six friends to the street and five of them got killed for less than $300. And I have four buddies that are doing 20+ years. Even though I was poor as a kid, I saw so much bullshit in the street I knew off rip never to get involved with any of that. I did it the right way by going to school. I didn't starting making a middle class wage until my late 20's, but the wait was more than worth it.

I like Boosie interviews, he is keeping it real, and most things he said make sense. We are rapping Monday to Sunday, we ain't selling kilos, we make money rapping. Of course I would no longer sale, if I am rich enough(everyone has personal judgement ad level of greediness, but I wouldn't do it once I got some decent amount. This is true as he said it, and I agree people who made it, and then started slanging didn't do it at young age, and want to correspond to the persona they try to represent.

Why do we glorify ignorance and ignore real MC'n? Then say "I'm only listening to the beat." Vibration and explicit lyrics are key to a destuctive lifestyle, let's be honest, we're not getting anything out of these records.

Nobody wants to hear the real deal. Even when we are talking about monks. They want that excitement, and also justification of "well at least I am not doing that". So many brothers and sisters wanna know if the rapper is "about that life" forgetting that alot of the gangsta rap was put out as storytelling, and to put neighborhoods on the map, so that the next generation wouldn't have to be about that life

Same where i live, but they make their living through construction. They hire a digger for 200 a day, get a job that day to clear space for someone's new house or road, make 3,000 for the job, and don't do anything themselves since they pay a worker to do all that digger work something like 100 a day. They get these jobs once every week or 2. Real good money for really little work.
