Thanks, but you can’t have Quick Capture and Hind sight working together so if you want to use Hind Sight you have to turn off Quick Capture, correct ?

Hey mate , quick capture just allows you to immediately start recording once you press the shutter. Hindsight is turned off when you turn on the camera. You need to go into pro settings to activate it once the camera has been turned on. Quick capture is a separate option to hindsight and doesn't need to be turned off for Hindsight to work. Hey Tim, fellow Adelaidean here! I have 2 x GoPro's will voice command work on both at the same time? Also, if i have one in media mod with external mic with the GoPro in that setup hear through the external mic? I have a GoPro remote which can control both at once on MultiCam but I find it's really slow... So I am thinking I'd need to use HindSight... Would love to hear your thoughts!

Hey Matt! thanks for your comments. In the past I have had two gopros next to each other and I had to say the voice commands twice to activate them, but then later when I say 'stop recording ' they will both stop within seconds of each other. I'll do some more tests in the next week or so to see if I an work that out. I use the media mod all the time and I know you can select the accessories mic in the pro settings- over the on board gopro mic - but I'm not sure abt using an external mic. another great idea for me to test! lol I found a video that might help with yr slow remote issue. I bought a GoPro hero 9 I want to use it as a dash cam and for other projects. If it’s on as I’m driving, can I talk about what I am seeing and will what I’m saying be recorded? Thank you for any feedback.

Hey Barbara! Thanks for your comment! You can definitely use your GoPro to record what you are saying while you are driving. You will get some other car noise too , of course, but it is possible. To decrease the amount of noise you could use a lav mic connected to the GoPro - if you have the GoPro Media Mod. Admittedly it will cost a few dollars to set up, but it is an option. One thing to note if you are going to use it as a dashcam is to not use the 'looping' option. Doing so would mean any footage you record and your audio will be recorded over after a certain interval. Hey Sleeper BBQ . That's a great question. I don't have the protective case - not much need for one here in Adelaide- but I would assume it would probably not be quite as effective. The gopro can sometimes be a bit fussy with commands without a casing so I think it would probably have some issues there. if I do get a case I will make a short for u. all the best

Great review! But... if GoPro (8 Black) mounted to motorcycle helmet, how can it hear the voice commands while riding? Too much wind noise even though mic is only several centimeters away. Is there a mic attachment to give VCs from inside the helmet? I have looked everywhere for a solution (including calling GP Help) but no good suggestions so far. Any suggestions appreciated!

Hey William. Thanks for watching and your great comment. My only suggestion with the wind noise issue would be to use a media mod for the gopro hero 8, and then get a lav mic and attach that to the 3.5mm port on the back. You could then try feeding that inside the helmet, having the mic near your mouth and give that a try. I don't have a motorcycle otherwise I would test it out for you, but that might help. Do you have a gopro motorcycle mount ?

@@AdventureTimMedia Thanks Tim.... That's exactly the solution I landed on. Waiting on the media mod and lav mic now. Hope it works. My current setup has a GP7 on the bike for video and I'm using the GP8 on the helmet to shoot burst photo and then combine the 2 image streams in post-production. Will see how it works. I'm a total noob at this! Thanks for the reply

Hi Phu Kien Gopro! wake on voice is a feature that gopro discontinued after the Hero 9. The 10 and 11 do not include that feature. Thanks for watching

@@amberbutler3129 Hey Amber, Thanks for your comment and great question. Do you have a remote for your gopro? They are waterproof and would come in super handy in your situation. Once paired you can turn your gopro on and off with the remote. Hope this helps. amzn.to/3un6dxQ

Hey Lians Motovlog! Thanks for your comment. If you do the following on the rear screen: swipe down and then swipe right, select Preferences. Next scroll down to Voice Control and then tap Voice Control. You should now be able to turn on voice control on your Hero 8. The other option is to swipe down from the rear screen, and then tap on the icon that looks like a heard with a small 'x' near his mouth to turn on voice control. I hope this helps. All the best.

I have a GoPro 10 so basically you are telling us that GoPro hero 10 does not have that capability?

Hey JAVVS, thanks for your comment. Your Hero 10 definitively has Voice control it just doesn't have an option called 'Wake on Command' which was an option GoPro removed after the Hero 9. That function allowed you to turn your camera on using only your voice. Everything else mentioned in this video you can do on your Hero 10. I hope this helps. All the best.

Hey NNR Adventures ! Thanks for your comment. Sorry to hear you are having issues. if you swipe down from the rear screen, swipe right, go to Preferences - Voice Control and then Commands you will see 13 commands the camera will recognise. You have to say them exactly as they are for the gopro to action your command. If you try that and it still doesn't work try changing the language option. There are 4 versions of English it recognises and although mine recognises my voice in Australian English, it doesn't pick up what I am saying if I use the other English dialects! What option are you currently selecting ?

Hey Mark. Thanks for your comment. The voice commands can come in handy but you have to be pretty precise with your wording. Even when I used the right setting for my accent and used the right wording sometimes it still missed the mark - like I showed in the video. When I used ' gopro start/ stop recording ' it was effective nearly all the time . I still think it's s a good feature but hopefully it will be fine tuned I'm the future. Thanks for watching

i just wish at least one of these cameras would have a regular two position tactile switch like the on/off switch on some cameras or the zoom f2 recorder, except going straight to recording when switched into the on position. that would be zero ambiguity recording bliss

Hey Mark. You can turn the gopro on with the mode switch on the side and then press the record button on top to start recording. The default is for the gopro to start recording when you press the top button but you can turn that off in settings.
