This video details the install of Boost Auto wiring kit which adds the missing wires to your GM door harness for upgrading from DL8 small mirrors to DL3 power fold small mirrors. This gets ALL of the circuits including power folding to properly function so the mirrors can work plug and play without running additional wires into the cab. The lighting circuits include turn signal and puddle light.
Why spend $200+ on replacing your door harnesses when you can just add the missing wires for a fraction of the price?
This upgrade will work for OEM mirrors (RPO code DL3) and any aftermarket mirrors that properly wire all of the wires into the OEM style connector.
Fitting 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500. 2015 2016 2017 2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500/2500/3500. 2019 Silverado/Sierra 2500/3500.

I own a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 WT with power mirrors, windows and locks. I recently bought power folding mirrors with turn signal and puddle lights. I bought your wiring harness kit for the conversion. I installed it with the help from the video on KZfaq, great video Thanks. After all my connections were made my drivers side window works But not my passenger side. Any ideas of what may be wrong? Thanks.... I also bought the wrong switch so i ordered the right one for the connector.

Will your wire harness and switch kit work with any aftermarket mirror with power adjust/fold, turn and puddle light function or do I have to buy the mirror from you as well because I don't like the chrome on the mirror you offer.

Our harness/switch will work with our mirrors and OEM mirrors - some aftermarket mirrors are wired different than OEM so we cannot guarantee function on aftermarket mirrors not purchased from us.

Yes, to gain the powerfold you will have to replace the switch.

This is NOT relevant for the SUV's - only the full size trucks. The wiring is different on the SUV's.

No, this is not applicable to the 2019+ new body style. We are working on a solution for those vehicles but there is currently not a power folding upgrade path at the time of writing this (3/7/22)

This will not work on new body trucks. This applies to 2014-2018 1500's and 2015-2019 2500/3500's.

I have a question I have the DL3 power fold folding but instead of doing all of that wiring could I just go get different door cables and mirrors switches off a Silverado/sierra that already had power folding and puddle lights and put them in my 14 Silverado because there's a lot of part out trucks near where I live and I would like to know if that can be an alternative instead of doing all of that wiring thanks!

No - that won't work. The harnesses are wired differently from DL8 to DL3 - it's not just the lighting that's different.

hey there I have a 2015 gmc sierra sle I installed power fold and door harnesses from 2019 silverado LTZ with proper mirror switch. I have turn, signals, heat and puddle lamps,only up and down on drivers mirror no movement on passenger side .power fold on neither one.will this kit work for me? Thanks Daryl.

You cannot take the harnesses from an LTZ and install them into an SLE. You need to revert back to your old harnesses, install our kit, and then everything should work.

I imstall these on my 2018 silverado with power folding mirrors. Before install both mirrors would move up,down and sides. After install they dont move at all only the turn signal works.

I own a WT spec silverado, and it does not come with power windows, or power mirrors. I am however, interested in retrofitting the power optionals. Can the folding/puddle lighting be controlled by a non-oem switch instead of the door controls?

I have a 2017 Silverado LT and installed OEM power folding mirrors from a LTZ. I also installed the correct switch and your wire kit. The turn signal, puddle lights and heated mirrors work, but neither the power folding nor the mirrors work, also only the driver’s window works from the main switch. Please advise.

@@rkeondre replace the 10a fuse (power mirror) in the drivers side fuse panel and you should be good to go.

@@whittielockett7611 did that fuse blew immediately. Only thing I will say is I had purchased a switch but it had a notch in it that wasn’t on mine so I cut the notch off so the plug would fit. Did your plug fit correctly!?

Yes the fuse blew immediately I had the same issue after buying the wrong switch. There’s 2 switches available and if I’m not mistaken it’s the 2014-2020 Silverado Sierra Suburban Tahoe Power Folding Mirror Switch 84643953. After I ordered and installed the correct switch and replaced the fuse they worked fine. There’s a slight initial delay of a few seconds then they were fine.

Sorry, we do not. This requires you have factory power mirrors to work and this simply gains the turn signal, puddle light, and power fold.

I did this to my 14 1500. I was told it has to be connected to a computer to get the heated mirrors to work again. My passenger side heated mirror works but not my driver side. Do you k ow anything about this, or anyone else? And if so how do I go about asking the dealer to do this.

Nothing for this install. This is a shared harness with the towing mirror and that wire is used for the towing mirror but not the small mirrors.

This is a universal harness that is also used for towing mirrors which have a different feature set. The DL3 mirrors don't need the white wire, so that's why it's discarded.

So if I just go to a salvage yard and pull the door harness from a truck that has the DL3 mirrors won't it work? Sense all your modifying is the door harness itself. I work at a salvage yard and we crush these trucks all the time. Mirrors are broken most of the time though.

No - the way the power adjust circuits operate are different between DL8 and DL3 so you have to use the DL8 harness or the power adjust won't work properly.

If you just swap the mirrors the lighting features will not work. To get the lighting features working you need to follow this video. If you try to swap DL3 harnesses to your DL8 truck, the lights will work but the power adjust won't (they're wired different for power adjust)... so that's why you need to modify your door harness with our kit following this video.@@user-nw6df5xw8h

Swapping the door harness off of an SUV originally with DL3 will NOT work. The electrical configuration for other mirror functions is not the same.

What's the whitr wire for?

This is a universal harness that is used for towing mirrors and non-towing mirrors. In the non-towing mirror application the white wire is not used.

@@luisperez-xd5mo We do not have an upgrade path for the auto dim at this time.

It would be the same procedure for a 2018 Silverado LT truck.

Hello, good evening, I bought this cable kit, I installed it on a 2018 Silverado Z71 LT, the pins fit well, the power mirror turn signals worked well, but the power mirrors do not work or do I have to install the white cable or does it have a fuse in the fuse box

My master switch no longer lights up at night when I'm driving it and I can't lower the right window from my driver door either.

There's an additional supplemental install required for 2014's to get the puddle light working. Email support@boostautoparts.com for assistance and they'll get you squared away.

Anything for an 08 silverado LT ? I went from dl8 power adjustable and heated mirror to a dl3 on truck everything works but powerfold, auto laptop dim and puddle lamps have adjustability heated mirror glass and turn signal

What is the white wire for? i install these on a 2018 silverado do I need the switch of a truck or would a suburban switch work?

This harness is a universal harness that is also used for towing mirror upgrades, so the white wire is only used on the towing mirrors. You can NOT use a switch out of a Suburban - it must be the proper switch for the vehicle.

I purchased new power fold mirror for my 2014 Silverado i install the mirror and the wire harness off a truck with power fold mirror do i need to modify the harness to make the puddle light work as well ? The turn signals work but just not the power fold or puddle light

I just got the harness I stall it on my sierra 2015 and the puddle lights aren't working neither, I used to have DL8 I switched over for DL3.
