The thing I love about Dimash is as an artist , he usually doesn't sing the same song the exact way everytime. I painted for years myself and it would have been SO boring if I had to paint the same setting and picture over and over they exact same way. Being the true artist Dimash is he is always changing, improving and giving us different ways to hear the same songs. That is why I think he is a genius and I love he has the freedom to be able to do that.

After Dimashs' appearance on The Singer 2017, Dimash remained in China for two years to record and do concerts. The sponsors of the show built a studio for him with state-of-the-art equipment. He had to live-stream from his studio because of the travel restrictions due to Covid. I hope you also listened to Ikanaide which was also done for the festival.

Thanks for another great reaction Matthew! This is also one of my favourite Dimash songs.... absolutely stunning. I love how each time he sings this song, his Fançais enunciation just gets better and better. In the Singer competition, I noticed how he added consonant sounds at the ends of words that shouldn’t have been there... (still such a beautiful rendition of S.O.S.) but he’s done wonderfully in this video! The emotion is really there with such an emotional song.

I discovered this musical and especially this wonderful song 40 years ago and I still sing it with as much pleasure (I've a light Soprano voice) 😊. In the story Johnny, a rebel, a marginal, falls in love with a famous TV host, Cristal, but she prefers him a rich businessman. So Johnny sings this "call" to help "Sos".. Then he throws himself from the top of the building that belongs to the businessman.. Here’s the story of this song of desperation that sounds like a bell 🔔.. It's so sad and this song was written especially for the great voice of a French singer, Daniel Balavoine, who died in a helicopter accident while travelling to distribute water to African people 😢 Everyone knows Gregory Lemarchal, an another beautiful voice, and his sad history which inspires Dimash but the creator of this song was Daniel Balavoine ♥️💖

What is REALLY silly is that reactors, like you, who do the right thing and put the links to the originals in their descriptions are actually HELPING the original content providers by making those who watch the videos aware of the provider and their site - there are MANY people who learn of new performers via reactors and go on to be great fans of them. On the other hand, there are also a lot of reactors who do NOT provide links to the original video, and providers, and I don't have any issues with them being penalised as they are benefiting without giving anything back to those who actually did the work in the first place. At the very least, it's damned bad manners!

Kazakh folk song In 1916, during the second year of Great War (World War I), the Russian Empire carried huge human and property losses. The burden of restocking was laid on subject nations. About 49 million hectares of fertile land were forcibly taken away during the war from Kazakhs. The owners were driven out into the barren wastes. Taxes increased form 3 to 15 times. For the needs of war, livestock and property were mass requisitioned. And finally it came to "requisition" of people. On 24th of June 1916, the Russian Tsar issued a decree that a half-million Central Asians, aged 19-43, were to be mobilised for army and labour brigades in the war effort. This decree was the spark for the Kazakh uprising, although the underlying reason was Russian colonisation and the usurpation of Kazakh lands. Song "Samal Tau" tells about this sad events for young Kazakh in this difficult time. The song is about young, about 28 year old, recruit walking from Samal village (close to Shalkar lake in West-North Kazakhstan) to Omsk, as he was forced to register for the Russian military according to a decree predating the revolt by a few months. He was walking for 15 days and almost reached Omsk.

The event was about 3 hours long, i was there the whole time, mostly Japanese jazz singers, then Dimash was the last one to perform, he sang Samaltau and SOS😃 20k people were watching, mostly Dears, the chat was full of us😂 It was great!
