A good example showing that the quality boosters do, in fact, work as they are designed - they will boost cell signal and repeat it inside a building or home like in your example. Often the negative reviews these things get are along the lines of "had no signal and this doesn't add any bars". Can't boost what isn't there. Good stuff. I do second the other two, though; I understand why those pass throughs are included but I would also probably drill a hole and run it through that way. I've installed a few of these (different brand...) in the last few years and they have all helped improve the indoor signal.

I’m not sure I’d use the window cable. Me personally I’d probably just drill a hole to pass the outdoor antenna cable through and connect it up that way.

Very cool! Curious if you could do a speed test with the booster unplugged from the power with and your phone using 4G service and then one with with it plugged back in and using 5G? Just to see if it's just rebroadcasting the 4G signal but rebroadcasting on the 5G band to your phone. I think that might be a interesting experiment.

Is that signal strength representing the connection to the indoor antenna? You may have great signal to the indoor antenna but still have bad connection if the exterior antenna has a weak signal. I've had 5 bars 5g and no data before.

Lol I’m sorry but where I live in central Louisiana we don’t even get 5G service, they sell you a phone that’s made to receive it but don’t have towers that push it. Plus we do good to get 4 bars on 4G in the best places

Some carriers use what's called millimeter wave technology. They tout that they offer 5G service but in all actuality millimeter service is very short distance from the cell site. Most of these sites are located in densely populated areas. They pretty much use this technology to say that they have 5G service and sell handsets that are capable of receiving that signal.However, this leaves the majority of their subscribers with 4G LTE. There's also other carriers that use a different cellular band that is capable of traveling further distances that offer 5G service. They achieve 5G service through carrier aggregation. Basically what that means is that the signal is fed multiple streams of data that allows for faster speeds. (think of it as a bunch of small pipes feeding into one large pipe)
