I tried listening to Playboi Carti and there's a couple MOMENTS in songs where it's catchy but no substance. Which means I'd only get tired of it quick and then there's nothing else. Even wikipedia describes his music are repetitive, more about the atmosphere than lyrics. In fact he mumbles noises a lot of times. No actual lyrics. It's sad to see hip-hop reach that level. You can have the same exact vibe while actually rapping lyrics. You don't need to be ignorant and stupid do get that vibe he makes. I don't know why people defend it. It comes from those rappers having poor education and no writing experience. They just copy what others do too. It's boring. The labels aren't even trying to help them develop like it used to be. Now they just let anyone have a record deal. And if you go independent, you basically can do whatever. That's fine until you see the quality of music drop immensely. Thank god for people like Kendrick who are not only keeping hip-hop alive but elevating it to new heights that the genre has barely seen, if ever at all. Kendrick is the future. Playboi Carti won't last doing that same shit he does. Same goes for the others. Once the young people grow up they'll see there's more music out there which has more substance.
