Our first morning in Huay Xai and we have a breakfast interview with Neenee Lao life before walking the streets of this cool little city on the banks of the mekong on the Thai and Lao border in northern Laos. Visiting the local markets and the very unusual things we find there and Laos information. Another interesting video. Thanks! Interesting that you say flip flops is an American term. Not sure about other parts of the country, but in California, well in Los Angeles anyway where I grew up, we always called them thongs too.

The Gibbon Experience is a couple of nights spent 40m above the Forrest canopy staying in amazing tree houses Which the views are incredible..but it did involved a fair amount of bush hiking..I was knackered after a day trekking but pushed myself..but it was fantastic travelling by the many km of zip lines ..we did see some gibbons one morning but they are normally difficult to see them..it took around 1 hrs drive by 4x4 from Houay Xia to get into where the trek started..

It's good to try different foods It means you honor your host country & your right We Americans call them "flip-flops" but it is only the ones that your big size toe kinda holds the post with, "thongs" are the sandals that fits all your toes into but still shows all your little piggies... Ps, My Dad was from Co Cavan Ireland anywho Thanks for the video, Cheers Mate & Best wishes to you and yours!

@@NowinLao Um, "Thongs" it's a type sandal... I was at the bottom of a fifth of Bushmills whiskey when I replied, I have been trying not to drink and reply, my apologies my friend, Cheers!

Thanks mate. Huay Xai is in the Golden Triangle. I'm in Vientiane, the Capital. 15hr drive south...

Thanks. I’m here in the states. I don’t see us going to Laos. Goes back to that communism thing. Thanks for the Lao vids. Nice to see what my wife’s birth country looks like. Was in Thailand in early 70’s so had an idea. Lao looks far behind out there in the country side. Happy New Year!

It's crazy here in the states dragon fruits cost six dollar's a pound and no tastes in laos is so cheap i got tire of eating it three day in the jungle it would be fun if go with lots people specily girls i love pineapple my mom she loves the moss rats are good to eat fry rats with papaya salad and sticky rice and beer Lao the jelly banana is my favorite wafers in Laos is the best good show again sir beer Lao

Funny, but I just got back fro Laos. Huay Xai was one of my stops, and it was cool seeing familiar sights! I did do the Gibbon Experience, and saw gibbons on 2 occasions! I think my favorite thing was the Elephant Bookstore for kids! They wanted you to go in just to have conversations in English with their students, so they could improve their English skills. I went in twice, and fell in love with the kids!

@@NowinLao It looked like you were close to my guest house, Sabaydee #1 The Gibbon Experience is just down a few doors, and the Elephant Bookstore is about a 4 or five minute walk in the same direction. The kids are great, and we still communicate via WhatsApp, Instagram and facebook!

No problem, thanks for watching. Pretty much the same. A lot of Lao will argue that most Thai food originated in Laos. You probably have more of a variety though in Thailand. Both are awesome! 👌
