UPDATE: I have been informed a modder by the name of "Wastelander121" had already modified meshes in Borderlands 2, by increasing the size of SK Meshes. While not exactly the same as this, I still want to give credit where it's due. Apologies for the oversight!

That would be really cool. I know a lot of people wanted to see them as playable characters in BL2, but, if that's not possible, I would already be satisfied if their enemy models could be swapped by the TPS badass-looking ones, specially Nisha and Wilhelm

Id love to one day see a tale of two wastelands style mod for BL2 and TPS. Tale of Two wastelands was a mod for fallout 3 and new vegas that merged the 2 games together and allowes both to be played in one playthough

The Phantasy Star Online 2 modding community has been able to replace meshes with bones for that game for many years now, and I think it was actually all the way back in 2019 when I reverse engineered the animation format so that people could start making things like custom lobby actions (which are basically like BL3's "emotes")...and all this time, I never thought about how I had never seen anyone do something like that with Borderlands 2. (Edit: the file with my notes actually says it was in January of 2019, so PSO2 almost had custom animations as far back as 2018!) For reference, PSO2 and BL2 actually came out around the same time, and I've regularly played those games throughout the years (since 2013 or so) because I'm a big fan of both. It'll be nice having one more of one of my favorite games enjoying the status of "highly customizable". I'm actually curious how the PSO2 modding community advanced as quickly as it did, because BL2 seems like it would have more resources available for it. I'm pretty sure BL2 is much more popular, and the documentation of the Unreal Engine is probably a lot better than the documentation we have of whatever PSO2 uses. That said, PSO2 is played on dedicated servers (currently, at least), so PSO2 modders had no choice but to mod things like meshes while people were working on modding things like custom skills and weapons in BL2.

I haven't messed with BL2 mods but I have seen a lot of what they've been doing in Marvel vs. Capcom 3. Modders there had a similar problem where they had to replace characters for a long time and only recently figured out how to add things without overwriting something else. Just like them I imagine it's going to take a countless hours digging through the code to find a solution but maybe looking into them or any other modding communities might help you find some answers.

I've yet to see any gun sound mods for this game or...any borderlands game, not to say 3 needs it, but the other main-line games need it badly, especially TPS. I do wonder if replacing gun sounds is a pain in the same vain as replacing or adding meshes/objects.

Most weapon mods do change sounds, just for specific guns, that no one really uses.

I don't know if it is at all possible. But I hope one day we can get Vault Hunters in other Borderlands games. Would love to see something like TPS characters in BL2. biggest issue with TPS is the inability to do any real endgame bosses.

I know at the end you mentioned you'd get this question but generally, as a modder myself, how did you manage to get the textures to work? I've already managed myself to get the mesh in by scoring to fbx, adjusting, then exporting from Maya's to fbx 2015 with triangulate/tangents which wasn't the hard part, but the UV I created can't be easily imported due to some sort of texture2D file format apparently. I've done research and I only find things about Unity, but this have was afaik done on Unreal 3 if I recall. Any idea of a work around for that since your were able to consolidate BL3s textures into one UV? Or some guidance on where to look?

Im interested in carrying over systems from bl3 like seperate loot pools for each player and improved loot beams/notifications. Using arpg style loot beams in bl2 but that comes with its downsides. Too bad a remaster isnt possible. That would be huge.

Are you ever going to address the recent criticisms you’ve received? Of course MAK’s videos are an incoherent mess, however there have been some very valid criticisms from other channels as of late (mocking people’s speech impediments, the apparent fake Reddit account) As much as I really enjoy your content, I definitely do think this needs some addressing. @@Necronomicon66 It is. Because it takes a bit for you to hit maximum sprint speed. In BL2 you instantly had maximum sprint speed the second you pressed the sprint button. So in BL3 if you hit a wall you just getting slowed down. This is most notable when you're trying to zoom around the map with a snowdrift/toboggan.

@@FrostDK98 Modding for BL2 has been happening for a while now so I'm not sure Gearbox cares too much. Especially since they have a lot of other problems to worry about that doesn't involve challenging very small equity loses that they kind of cause themselves. As long as modder aren't demanding money for this stuff it's not really going to be worth taking to court or even striking to oblivion because of the potential PR backlash.
