Only second to finishing an episode of a tv show series (like the recent HBO True Detectives) where its just a six season series but RIGHT as the episode ends "coming up this season" airs the best little clips from the remaining eps.

On that note, I agree much on, I do like that they are not adhering to the general stereotypes we might expect though, gives a new look to the action sequence bits, also, as much as it is guardians of the galaxy-esque, the not so savory humour of the original games were something of a finer point to what made them enjoyable at a younger age :p Jack-Black as clap-trap, that was unexpected XD

Came here to say this. Probably why I'm a month late on seeing it and I have seen it on NO other media platform. I've been playing since BL2 and my Google definitely knows that. Therefore this movie is 100% trash.

Unaware that Guardians of the galaxy was a Borderlands ripoff if anything. Borderlands the game came out and it was... like James Gunn to a T without him having anything to do with it BEFORE he got big and made GotG. Also fun note, Jamie Curtis is a massive gaming nerd and goes to conventions in costume etc. She probably took up this film because she's a giant Borderlands fan.

man. the only good thing about this movie and how they made it is that it inspired your S tier comment. I was so excited when I heard they were making it and now im just pissed. Why waste all that money to make an obvious flop. Hansome jack should be... well i dont know if there's a new young actor that can play new generation of ryan renolds but at least be ryan renolds. Either the AI (i forgot her name) is missing or just not in the trailer. which is sad, NONE of them are inherently bad actors, and in fact several of them have taken bad scripts and made them bearable with exemplary performances but theyve been given roles that just... dont match up with what theyve done in the past OR the source material; its literally just corporate looking at what actors are available and within budget, and rolling the dice on what theyll play. I would have no problem with any of these actors in a borderlands movie, just not as these characters

As with any movie, the only way to truly know whether it's trash (and compared to what, because quality isn't binary) is to watch it. A trailer only shows the surface presented in a very specific way, and this is technically a very solid imitation of the surface of James Gunn's style. The question the trailer can't answer is whether there's anything under that surface. But in looking up Roth's co-writer, I've found a whole rabbit hole. It appears that Joe Crombie might not exist, but Craig Mazin who was originally announced as a writer but whose name is no longer on the project, denies it being his pseudonym. IMDb writing credits are provided by the WGA, but Joe Crombie has no WGA link. Maybe it's a pseudonym of Zak Olkewicz, who wrote some pages for Tim Miller's reshoots. So yeah...I'm not saying there isn't a significant probability of it being trash, because there definitely is. There's just only one way of knowing for sure.

No, is Borderlands from the 2009 videogame, with original costumes and characters. Not even the 1969 comic from Guardians of the Galaxy resembles nothing like the original Borderlands. Maybe the soundtrack confuses you.
