We're like cats drawn to abandoned places as our bright shiny things. While driving from Arizona to New Mexico, we spotted an old, abandoned weigh station and had to stop. We then came across an abandoned cafe and an abandoned diesel mechanic business. Despite originally aiming to reach our destination on the other side of the New Mexico border, we felt compelled to explore these abandoned gems in the opposite direction.
Have we ever told you the story behind why we do this? We will give you the shortened version. Michelle's upbringing in the Midwest included exploring abandoned places with her Grandmother. Several years later, during a photography excursion in the desert, we stumbled upon an abandoned home. Grant was astonished as Michelle fearlessly entered the house, sparking his own passion for exploration.
Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to uncovering the mysteries of abandoned places in Arizona. While traveling through New Mexico 2 years ago, we were captivated by numerous abandoned sites and vowed to return to capture them on video. However, Arizona keeps telling us we aren't finished here, yet. Although our journey has led us back to Arizona for now, we are excited to share our latest video featuring more abandoned places near the border.
