Newbie here. When you say 1.5mils left and 2.6mils low, did you make your adjustments 15 clicks and 26 clicks on your turret?

Man, check the pipes, you guys have a bad helium leak! The key to this method is to use a good, secure lead-sled/rifle shooting rest and a secure, steady table. This works on all bolt guns and AR-type rifles where you have a clear line of sight down the bore. Rifles like AK's M1A's, etc the receiver obstructs the view but I found a neat trick to get around that... I took a couple small dental mirrors and welded them together offset from each other. Bend to align and you make a periscope that will allow you to get a view down the bore.

Why are you adjusting from the bullseye back to the bullet? Shouldn’t you go from the first shot back the bull’s-eye? I’m siting in my scope for the first time and I want to be sure I get this right. Thanks

if the rifle hasn't moved, then the bore of the rifle is still pointed at the impact, by shifting the reticle to the same point you have now aligned the bore and scope.

You're moving the reticle to the hit not the hit to the reticle.

How do you look down a bore of a rifle? Why not skip the process? Is that necessary? Im from Europe.

removing the bolt of most rifles gives you a straight line of sight through the whole thing. This process is to zero the rifle. It’s so you hit where you aim. There are many ways to do it, but no matter how it’s done, it is necessary.

Not really, no. The zero just determines the point of impact in terms of elevation. 100 yards is most popular, but you can zero for any distance.

If I zero for 100 yards And I'm trying to shoot something just 6 feet away Wouldn't the shot not hit exactly where I want it to hit on my target? I think a little discrepancy will be observed

@@chiakwelunweta4319 there will be a difference depending on distance to target, but if you know that distance using a range finder, you can pretty easily adjust the scope to hit exactly on your point of aim. In that sense, you don’t lose accuracy when shooting outside of zero. Now if you’re talking about “practical” use where you don’t have that time to adjust (like hunting) the difference really isn’t that extreme. If you have a 100 yard zero, you’ll still hit vitals on a medium-game sized target anywhere from 200 yards to 25 feet depending on the exact cartridge.

I'm confused about how soldiers at world war 2 did this with their garands in the middle of a battle, how they could get the time to do this with movable targets and with no clear sight of what they hit with the first shot

Well those rifles were sighted in before they hit the frontline. And they had iron sights on their garands.

every scope has marks that represent a value. You may need to do some math to figure it out, but it will work.

It was not factory zerod had a total of 182clicks of right wind adjustment the customer service told me to divide that by 2 and take that number and zero the turret to that

@@elianleal7340 That has nothing to do with it. If your scope is in line with the barrel it is not possible to have only 3 click left to adjust. Is your barel straight or worn out? Do you use quality scope mounts? I have seen 1" scopes being fitted with electrical tape in 30mm. mounts.

you adjust the scope from where you aimed, to where you hit. its a simple concept.

Adjusting the scope to your shot is faster and easier than trying to move your scope from the shot placement up and over to the bullseye.
