This is so, so close to being the perfect entry level fishing pedal kayak. The cockpit layout is fantastic. Forward rod holders, side pockets, dry hatch within arms reach, huge stern well, track mount seat, enough rail space for most anglers. Built in wheels also remove one extra expense. That said, it has 5 flaws in my opinion. First, and probably least important, is lack of a built in transducer mount. Most kayaks these days have one, but there are other options for transducers, although that adds cost. Second is the front hatch not being waterproof. If you want to run a fish finder, that is the most logical place to store batteries and electronics. Again, there are options out there, but that adds another expense that could have been avoided. Third is the seat height. Standing is almost a must for kayak fishing. The seat is low enough to make standing up and sitting down clumsy and awkward. Fourth is the bow shape. The large keel is nice, but the lack of transition into the hull leads to plowing water. A smoother transition would help roll water out to the sides instead of pushing it forward. The last, and most critical, flaw is the deck height. The deck of this yak is below the waterline when it is loaded up. That means when the scupper plugs are removed, the deck floods. When the plugs are in, the bow pushes water into the cockpit under even a little chop on the water, so the deck fills up either way. Either the deck should be higher, or the hull should be 2-5 inches wider to raise the entire boat out of the water more. If none of that matters to you, it would be a great starter to get into local tournaments or weekend fishing. I really wanted to love this one, but little details bother me enough that I'm going to spend 3 times as much to get into a Native Titan X for my next kayak.
