What you have to realize,is that The Beatles,in 8 years changed the course of popular music, forever. There first 3 albums were the product of their youth and that got them known. From Hard Days Night and Help you saw a slight change and from Rubber Souls onwards, you saw the icing on the cake.No other band did so much for popular music than the Beatles. What they did in just 8 years was phenomenal. No other band can touch them.Sure there were great bands that followed,Zeppelin,Floyd,Stones,Hendrix,Cream and my personal favourite after the Beatles the great,David Bowie. The Fab Four opened the door for them all.Brian May of Queen explained it the best when he said, the Beatle music,is our bible. All new young and up and coming music artists, need to study their music. For me,who lived and grew up with them, they were the best band ever.As Tina Turner says, simply the best.

The 60s was an era where bands started out the decade doing pop and finished it doing psychedelic and hippie music. Total music and cultural revolution. Really can't compare it to any other era in music.

No one ever mentions that when the Beatles became known for writing their own material it started the trend at the time in the UK. Before, most music was by produced by professional music and lyric writers ,whose material was then performed by others The Beatles did break the mould and soon after other bands started showing their own work.

I love the early Beatles music. Not just because it was fun but because it enabled them to have the freedom to do what they did later. I grew up with them. I was 12 when they did the Ed Sullivan show. I also think that this time was when they were the happiest. They were just a really good band. Simple and to the point. You have to be my age to fully understand just how impactful they were to culture. It was simply fun music. We have lost that concept somehow. I don't see a lot of happy people having fun anymore. They put on happy faces but underneath they are struggling. So sad.

@johndavids4780 WELL said, and so true. I was 16 the night they did their first Ed Sullivan Show on Feb 9, 1964 (can you believe it will be the 60th ANNIVERSARY of that event on Feb. 9, 2024, in 6 more days??!! I became 17 years old exactly a month after that performance. It was TRULY a HAPPY and FUN time, THANKS to the BEATLES. We were all down, sad and a little scared after President Kennedy was assassinated on Nov. 22, 1963 (something that I, as a 16 year old, thought that would NEVER happen in my lifetime) Did you know that THE BEATLES' UK album "WITH THE BEATLES" was RELEASED in ENGLAND and the rest of the UK, as well as in Europe. ON Nov. 22, 1963, the DAY President Kennedy was assassinated?

Paul maybe the one whos keeping the Beatles at the forefront of music, considering hes been living for 43 years more the John, im sure John would be doing something similar. I first started watching the Beatles when i was 15 or 16. I was one of the lucky ones who witnessed the birth of all this greatness. I was a regular at the lunchtime sessions at The Cavern. The earlier Beatles was at the height of Beatlemania, and nothing like that had ever been seen before or since. The Beatles are the biggest selling music artist of all time, and much of that success was from those earlier record sales. Peace

"where the Beatles are unique...most bands give you their best right off the bat... the Beatles matured" Good point, Gabe. But it's more than that, because when you've absorbed the quality of the late material you'll go back to the beginning with fresh ears, understanding the times they lived in and helped to change, and you'll realise just how good they always were. That strength in depth has no equal.

Paul is not dead yet. This song is the opening song on Abbey Road where thier new recording studio was. On the cover they're walking from the direction of the graveyard of the Abbey and into their new studio. Just from the graveyard into the studio with the now resurrected dead man Paul and they record this song the first song on the album. This is the answer to the funeral scene on Sergeant Pepper.

Michael sold the rights to pay for his molestations. And no it’s not one of their psychedelic songs. This is summer 1969. One of the last things all 4 worked on together. If Paul did die in 1966 (which he didn't, he's still with us), the guy they replaced him with not only closely resembled the "late" Paul but was also some kind of musical genius, who was heavily involved in Sgt Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, the White Album, Let It Be and Abbey Road, plus the entire post Beatles career of McCartney. I prefer the Beatles later stuff, too.I also like a lot of the earlier stuff. But I think to really appreciate their early records, you have to understand the dross that came before them. Rock and Roll had been tamed by the establishment to make it more acceptable to parents. The Beatles kicked all that away.. Their older stuff may seem run of the mill to new listers now, but that's because so many bands were inspired by them, so now you might think they are just another sixties group. John wrote this, stealing, almost word for word, more than a verse of Chuck Berry's "Can't catch Me" from a decade earlier. Paul made him change the rhythm, added a cool bass line, and this is how it evolved over the course of a week or so. The "video" is from the video game released in 2008. Not really 'psychedelic'. If you want psychedelic, try "Tomorrow Never Knows". And that was an electric guitar (George playing), not a sitar. In March of 1964, John published a book called "In His Own Write", which was a collection of things he had written over time. If you look through that book, you see a lot of weird use of words and made-up words; one reviewer called it a book full of nonsense. Paul and John also used nonsense words as temporary filler for songs where the tune came first and the lyrics required work; it's how you get "Scrambled Eggs" to morph into "Yesterday" (the melody came to Paul in a dream; he spent the first couple weeks asking people if they could tell where it was from, because Paul didn't believe it was an original tune). "Come Together", like "Hey Bulldog" and "I Dig A Pony", utilized that literary tendency so evident in "In His Own Write" to massacre words to harvest feeling. Art.

John Lennon was sued by Chuck Berry for use of words from a song of his in the past. It was credited officially to Lennon/MacCartney when released, but John in one of his heroin fuelled outbursts said that it was all down to him and that Paul had nothing to do with the song and had contributed nothing to it - so Berry's manager just sued John. :)
