@@KhanGarthI DID build this deck after another KZfaqr did a similar video, but I did have the unfortunate pleasure of playing with one of those decks that cares about timing/number of times an effect goes off, which I carelessly forgot about, and this player managed to do something genuinely unhinged: anytime I drew a card, I milled a card. I almost decked myself out before I could murder the table because I wasn't paying attention to this dude's board state. I had to instinctively murder that guy before the others after I was already midway on beating another guy with a mountain and some trees

@@user-nu3hf2ws8b (um actually your um actually) That was not the rule change. It was always true that to "name" a card you were only ever required to "unambiguously identify it", any sufficient description of the card has worked since way back. You never needed the actual name. The actual issue with Borbor was that the original from Guildpact had the exact full name "Borborygmos", so the argument was that if you named exactly "Borborygmos" you HAD identified only one specific card in "Borborygmos" and therefore not the "Borborygmos Enraged" that people actually played. This was previously a problem with "Vedalken Shackles" (an artifact always just called Shackles) and "Shackles" (an obscure enchantment). The actual "Borborygmos rule change" was that there needs to be "no possible confusion" even if what you named is a full card name, and if there is any uncertainty both players have a duty to "immediately clarify" it. In practice, it means that now the Namer has the hammer if the opponent doesn't confront an ambiguous name. If there's any reasonable disagreement about a name, the Namer gets to "clarify what they meant to name" at the time the disagreement is brought to light, to their advantage.

Do not make the mistake of believing the Gruul player is a dumb player. They have the capacity to not only play more lands and creatures than you, this color combination allows them to dispense an inordinate amount of land destruction and burn. Also they're really fond of giving all of their creatures Haste by setting things on fire? I'm not sure why, it started back in Invasion... I draw a card, but oh, instead I'll just dig for a land and put it in my hand. Oh hey, this land looks neat. Unrelated, could you taste this for me?" before shoving said land down someone's life total, starting the process again. And if they try and react once the combo has started, he's got like 6 more lands in hand to dump in response (one at a time) to bury them before their removal can resolve, because reducing to someone to 0 life is the same as countering their removal spell.
