Bosch GBH 18V-34CF Biturbo hammer drill review

Kennbury carpentry were chosen by #boschprofessional to take part in the #biturbotest and were kindly gifted one of their latest cordless hammer drills the GBH 18V-34CF BITurbo. The latest high performance batteries partnered with a powerful brushless motor.
We put the drill through its paces, comparing it to some of bosch's older models in a fair, non bias way.
The tests we conducted found that this drill is excellent ant drilling holes, if you fit alot of wall plates, anchor bolts and studding, it's a great tool, if you want to core through a wall, it's not for you.

Your better off with a cord for cost effective power but if you need cordless it's worth buying the best in
class. (Sds max is a bigger bit, check them out as they are less common and a bit more expensive)

The 2-28 should probably be compared against 18V-28 or 18V-26. That 18V-34 is an SDS-Max tool with SDS-plus chuck. Internally it uses a crank and a piston unlike a traditional SDS-plus tool which would use an oscillating bearing. Therefore 18V-34 spins much slower but packs greater punch in each hit.

Thanks for the review. What tasks were you doing that drained the 8 amp in 15 mins? Chiseling or drilling?

Hi, thanks for the comment. Coring drained it the fastest. The motor is 750w so working it to its full potential the maths says 8 amps will last 11mins 54 secs.

So how long would it last when chiseling. I have 3 procore batteries and the gal 160v charger.

i see your core drilling but how do you put the core drill mode on?

this is a question for my bf he needs the core drill mode but don’t know how 🤣

Hi, you don't want the hammer function on for coring, swap the chuck around with the other provided and it won't hammer, it is a fundamental problem with this drill, it is hopless at drilling large cores and not being able to switch the hammer off on the tool itself is a big design flaw IMO.
