Our Bosch MeasureOn App is the perfect app for easy on-site documentation of floor plans, measurements, photos and notes. Save time when measuring, documenting, and calculating quantities and edit your data anywhere and on any device - on the move, on the construction site or at the office. This video demonstrates how the MeasureOn App supports your existing workflow, which features and options it offers and anything else that could be important. Thanks to the intuitive user interface you can get started right away without having to spend much time familiarising yourself with the app.
Info: The cloud function of the MeasureOn App will be available in selected countries from the end of February.

Should you have trouble connecting to your laser range finder, you can find instructions here:
iOS instructions:
The app needs permission to access Bluetooth when establishing the connection.
You can also do this after the fact in your smartphone settings under Settings → MeasureOn → Bluetooth.
Android instructions:
There may be several reasons why errors might occur when establishing the connection depending on the Android operating system.
Instructions for troubleshooting:
- Make sure that you are establishing the connection in MeasureOn and not via your smartphone settings.
- Disconnect your smartphone from the laser range finder by opening the Bluetooth option in your smartphone settings and disabling the connection there.
- Then return to the smartphone settings and select the Apps menu item. You will find the MeasureOn App there, as well as the option to share your location. Please give permission (BOSCH does not receive any information when you enable location sharing, this is simply a setting required by the Android operating system).
- Activate GPS on your smartphone.
- Restart the app and connect your laser range finder directly via MeasureOn (and not your smartphone settings).

Just tested it, and realized I cannot export plan to dwg auto cad format. Major miss in my opinion. I am an architect, this definitely should have been a must from the get go. Leica app has dwg export function…

Someone needs to tell Bosch that a floor-plan usually contains multiple rooms... what they have created here is an admittedly very good room-plan app but not one that can create floorplans.

Recently got a GLM400CL. Wow. This is great! I can get everything recorded on site from the unit to the tablet. With all rooms exported to PDF, the exercise of getting the drawing back into autocad or another vector based layout is a cinch. (Normally I have to redraw.) I love it. Now I need more buildings. Larger ones please. With complex corners and multiple facets. What a time saver.

Is it possible to just collect a simple list of measurement ?

Program is nice considering it's a low level layout program. Only major that bothers me is the measurements when you export to PDF in the "wall overview" can be crowded and overlap. Especially in the horizontal measurements, there's a huge white space between the elevation view and layout that can be utilized. My output shows my 5 walls on one page, lower it to 4 a page and allow for all the measurements to be legible. If a feature of this app is to transfer measurements to a PDF for reading, it basically fails this since it's not legible. Either way, great job, Bosch. I bought the GLM 400C since it can measure outdoors and figured the app would be an added bonus. It would be awesome if you guys kept developing the program. EDIT: I used this program on an Android and the ease of use for this on a phone is quite impressive.

But how do you show multiple rooms together on the same floorplan?

Hi Coopers, The developers chose to keep rooms separate within the app to avoid errors during the measuring process. A situation when this could occur is when 2 rooms share a wall but only part of said wall. The measurement could be applied to the wrong side automatically due to their proximity and suddenly the plans are a little skewed! The option is to create separate rooms within a workspace and then long press the rooms within that workspace and drag them next to each other. That way you get an accurate representation of the floorplan without risking an inaccurate measurement ruining the job. I hope that helps answer your question. When exporting the whole project that has one workspace with floor and walls in it and another one without the wall height set (only the floor needs to be remodeled), and selecting "Include wall views", the app still generates wall views for the second workspace as well. It can be very confusing for subcontractors. Is it possible to exclude wall views from a workspace without a set wall height within a project?

Hello, thank you for your comment! Since both workspaces are in one project, you can only make one setting for the export of the entire project, then in the wall overview of the second workspace only the length and no other measurements are shown. One option to avoid this would be to move the second workspace and export it individually with the wall view setting turned off there. Ok app. Would be nice to be able to use the app and information from a project across platforms - pulling the info from my phone and editing it on my desktop.

Hi Alexander, The Measuring Master App can be connected to your GLM 50 C, but we recommend to download the successor app MeasureOn as there won’t be any further updates for Measuring Master.

Hi James, Unfortunately MeasureOn currently doesn’t support slopes, you can only add room heights at the moment. With that being said, we’ll take this feature into consideration for future updates.

Honestly can't say I'm overly impressed with this app, especially given the fact that you can't create complete floor plans incorporating all rooms. While developers have concerns regarding dimensions, the bigger problem to contractors is ENTIRE rooms could accidentally be omitted.

Since users can sketch only one room at a time, we recommend creating a workspace, on which you can put an unlimited number of room sketches and align them on the same workspace (via drag & drop), to indicate an entire floor. The current single room layout should avoid errors when transferring measurements with the laser rangefinder, nevertheless we will take your feedback into account and have it reviewed for the future app development. @@BoschProfessionalUK aligning rooms on the workspace doesn't really work since each room is like a drawing on a piece of paper, they overlap and obscure each other

How do you save image to phone?

Hello, thank you for your comment. The images themselves cannot be saved to the phone gallery directly if this is what you intend to do. You do have the option to export the image as a JPEG or PDF file (click on the image on the workspace and choose “share”) and save the file to the phone then. Hi Amy, I've just been informed that workspace and project exporting are now supported on Android since version 1.0.5. I believe this was a recent addition so please do check that you have the latest version. If you're on iOS the feature will be rolling out within one of the next major updates. You should be able to find options for exporting under the 'share' button.

why put that horrible music in the background?

How come when I make a detailed floor plan in the app, by using a uploaded drawing as background, it tells me: due to a logical conflict of wall’s the area cant be calculated… if I could send you a image, I could show you what I see, as some walls have a black outline with the measurement with it, however I also have some walls where the inside measurement is black, where the outside is blue…. I also have one wall where both inside and outside measurements are blue, in brackets… I assume the once in blue are to pay attention to, however it douse not tell me what is wrong, and because of it, I can not fix it, and thus kind of cant use it……

Hi Kevin & Karina Kersten, In situations like these it would be best if you directly contact support through the app itself. If you could please open the app, select the profile icon in the top left hand corner which opens your 'User account' menu, you can then click 'Contact us' highlighted in blue underneath the sub-heading 'Feedback & Support' This will enable you to contact the developers directly who should be able to help you with your query.
