Exellent work again from Tool Teardown. This is the right way to show the quality stuff. I have used this same rotary hammer for several years. Never had any problems.

I have the bigger brother of that rotary hammer the Bosch PBH 2500 RE it looks identical but it's a little stronger, I drilled some holes with it in about 5 years of use but now I'm taking it out only for harder work that requires more force for lighter stuff I have a 20 v battery-powered, rotary hammer from Skil, the SKIL 3810. Subscribed. Great channel! I have this drill. It recently stopped working after a year of renovating my parents house. I'll hopefully be able to bring it back to life. It's paid for itself a million times over

Really good video, love the explanations on how the mechanics work inside it. Would be nice to see the Einhell battery version (Einhell PXC TE-HD 18/12 Li - Solo) opened up for a review if you ever get the chance.

I have one of these to be able to work them 45+ years old, soviet style, rebar-reinforced concrete walls. Drills holes into said concrete as if the walls are made of butter.

Hi there. Thanks for the informative video. On my Bosch PBH2100 RE everything works but the hammer. When I turn the knob to hammer mode the drill just continues to turn and drill. Any idea how to fix? The knob does differ when I set it at either masonry drill and normal drill mode.

I had another bosh drill rubisch, speed regulating is not presices after some time, and dust stick to all buttons and they stuck. the motor hadn't enough torque to mix the cement and was heating up to almost set on fire

As expected, the drill oozed typical Bosch quality. Another thorough investigation of a power tool, thank you. Just one thing; you appeared to side-step the manual rotation setting on the switch for adjusting the chisel position.

After heavy use mine now leaks a black oil like substance, must be to do with the grease? It also cuts out every 10 seconds or so now unless I use it vertically. Do you have any ideas why that may be? Thanks! @toolteardown

yes the rubber thing needs to be removed for disassembly. It requires a bit of brute force, but warming it with a hair dryer makes it easier, and much better to put back on

Thanks for the vid! I'm repairing my old PBH 200 RE given to me by my grandma a century ago ;-) It leaks oil heavily. Opened the machine and it looked like the gearbox of a car. Is it just me but I cannot believe that a drill is filled with oil from factory. And I cannot find info on the oil neither. My question is: is the oil 'molted' grease? And if so, what type of greasy should I put in? Thanks in advance, no problem with 'dunno' :-)

Hi Eus, Bosch actually uses a specific grease within all of thier hammer drills. Here is a link to the part number and some details: www.ereplacementparts.com/grease-tube-p-768150.html It’s not an oil, but if the drill gets used for long periods of time, as in hot the stuff eventually turns into an oil like substance.

Yes I replaced the switch, also without clearing the symptoms.

Hello. I have the same drill. I disassembled it. When the engine is running, it gets very hot and the impact feature is lost. What is the reason?

It’s a pneumatic mechanisme. When you say when it gets hot it stops. I think the pneumatic piston mechanism might be seizing, in the cylinder, which stops the hammer impact function.

The coup works again. If there is a problem, will replacing this part solve the problem? In addition, what could be the cause of the engine overheating?

I own one. It has developed a fault after a few years of occasional use. The symptoms are that the drill may not work when used from some angles. I replaced the brushes but now suspect the trigger switch assembly

Did you ever find a fix for this problem? My unit developed exactly the same issue, with no obvious causes among the visible electrical connections. I replaced the switch assembly having come to the same conclusion as you, but the symptoms persisted.

@@AlexRennison no, I also replaced the switch. On my model there is an extra wire at the back of the switch to a heat cut out (a thermocouple). I have also tried replacing that with a different thermocouple (after extensive searching, this is not shown in any parts diagram or spares list). This improved things slightly but not for long. Life is too short. I bought the same drill on offer. My partner has bought me a battery driven drill and impact driver set.

@@ellewasal Thanks for the swift reply! Mine also has the thermocouple wire, so I might play around with that for a bit. That said, you set a good example by doing more exciting things with your life. Suspect I'll do the same!

@@AlexRennison let me know - i have hung onto the old one. Oddly enough similar things happened to my ancient little black and decker, brushes replaced, only works from a certain angle, checked for play in the mechanical parts. I thought battery drills would lack torque, but the Denali I was gifted for birthday is great. For the larger jobs the new Bisch hammer is fine
