I have both models The plus has much improved mic pre-amps And USB, insert capability and the app - I was sceptical, but all these things combined it really is a great upgrade

I have the plus version just because my NUX was a piece of sh... but with huge potential so I switched. Now, Bose + is insane. Wireless capability is perfect. Not just for instrument inputs, but for whatever you want with few cables. The sound is not questionable. You can tweak it however you want. through the EQ. The App is great My plan is to to buy another Bose+ and in the future subwoofer for larger audiences.

The plus version IS louder and has better bass and better sound in general. I used the S1 once and didn't like it at all. Then I heard the plus version and I fell in love and bought a pair. It IS worth the upgrade.

The Plus has Tonematch And EQ ontheAux channel I now use it in place of a mixer and as a monitor with the DI out into 2 powered speakers

Hola Francisco muchas gracias por el video. Yo también tengo la primera versión del s1 system con batería. Lo que me gustó mucho de este nuevo modelo es: 1_ la posibilidad de conectarlo a la computadora vía USB a modo de placa de sonido para poder hacer transmisiones en directo con buena calidad. 2_la función de poder hacer insertos de efectos y pedaleras y no perder la conexión wireless con el instrumento. 3_Este nuevo S1+ tiene una función que me interesaba mucho que tuviera qué es la de regular el corte de frecuencia desde la app del mismo s1pro hacia el subgrave, lo cual nos permite utilizarlo con Bluetooth una vez que tenemos el subgrave. Como dices tú lamento mucho que no haya salido una versión más potente con mejores bajos y sobre todo que no tenga medios la ecualización. Lo de la ausencia del phantom power es incomprensible también. Te mando un abrazo desde Argentina y espero que sigas haciendo buena música.

Thanks! The thinks you said are true, and I suppose that if these are feature that a musician need it can be a good choice to buy it. I personally non use those, or at least they are not a must have for me. I can understand the choice to make it small and not more powerful, maybe they want to keep it very portable, but the lack of phantom power or detailed eq remain a mystery! Thank you very much for the video I use the yamaha stagepass 200 it has 4 inputs 3 xlr quarter inch and one quarter inch phantom power on the 3 xlr inputs mikes are really loud thank you again Joe

Yes it is a bit heavy I think because of the battery. It is rated at 180 watts not sure if that is rms. Another thing I am not gone on is the one knob eq I prefer three knobs high mid and low, but it sounds good. You can get a bag for it with wheels. It also has an app which I have never used as I much prefer to change things on the speaker itself thank you again for a great video good point that they have no not changed the speaker. If you wanted more volume you could try a condenser that is powered with batteries I have an akg that can run on 2 double a's thank you

Thanks for a good review! Interesting, i planned to get one before and here now there’s another new version. The add on accessory looks too pricey for me, $150 for a small plug.. Those wireless RX TX shouldn’t be that expensive imho.

There is The mic pre amps are much much better Plus Tonematch capability EQ on Aux channel And wireless dongles (if that's your thing) Much much better than the Mk1

Thank you so much for this video. Wondering if you ever tried a microfone cloudlifter or t-tone to enhance the vocal signal on the Bose s1? I really like the warm sound of the Bose and it seems like there’s less harsh mids (which I really hate on the average small pa on the market). The Bose seems to smush it all together. But as a singer I’m really afraid I buy the older version and vocals won’t be loud enough. Also have you tried the new alto busker? For me personally the ev everse 8 is too expensive. I’m looking for great sound basically for living room converts and busking only from time to time.

Dai un occhiata all’everse 8. Penso sia quello il migliore che puoi trovare al momento. Altrimenti bose per qualcosa di più portabile ma solo per piccole situazioni. E comunque alla fine stiamo parlando di mezzo chilo di differenza con bose s1 e poco di più con l’s1+

I would vote everse, more natural and full sounding. The only thing I would say the bose is better is the wide covering angle. Apart from that, everse.

Watts are irrelevant. Watts only relates to power consumsion and not volume as in DB. The S1 Pro Plus has an SPl of about 110 for about 160'ish watts of power. the EV Everse 8 has a SPL of about 120 for 400watts of power consumption. both metrics are peak SPl and not continuous

As a piano player, Bose S1’s are poor to balance the bass and achieve a round tone, true to an instrument. The Plus is no different.

I am using a DPA 4099 condenser mike connected to a Bose T4S then connected to channel 3 on the S1 Pro + with a TRS cable. My question relates to the best way to set the volume. Should I set the S1 Pro volume to 50% then use the mixer to set the final volume or should I set the SI Pro volume higher or lower and adjust the volume on the mixer to get the level I want? Everything on the mixer is zero EQ since the whole purpose of this expensive microphone is to allow the guitar to sound the way it sounds unamplified except amplified and of course there is no EQ adjustment on the guitars when played unamplified. Or should I skip the mixer altogether and plus the mike directly into the S1 (I have external phantom power) and just use that volume control? I am using the mike on my Martin 000-28EC; Ramirez Classical and Cordoba crossover. Thanks for any input you may provide.

I would use the t4s to set the sound. I know that you use the dpa to obtain the natural guitar sound but you could need to adjust the signal to make it sound as close to the true acoustic sound trough the bose. I would start setting a normal level from the mixer and after regulate the level in the speaker.

I’m upgrading I’m selling both my s1pro next week at $500 each ($1000) in total crazy thing is that I need 4 of those xlr wireless transmitter as each one does about 3/4 hrs of play time and most of the gigs are usually 5 hrs long the wireless connection is really important to me but I understand that for most it isn’t I figure I’m going to spend a little more than $1000 extra after selling the Bose s1 pro but that is fine for me if something newer comes out I can resale these and step up again besides I’ll make that money back in 2 gigs 😊
