Thank you very much for the video, it's awesome. Just to let everyone know of one thing i did different is that before starting to prying out the clips. i used my Heat Gun to soften the adhesive all around the speaker for a few times and then just slowly pry it open. it worked like a charm. Thank you for all of your hard work making this video!!

Thank you! I was considering using a heat gun,, but was concerned about using any heat near a Li-Ion battery. Were you able to open it without damaging the clips then?

Hi,thank you very much for uploading such a detailed teardown video. But I'm afraid I couldn't get your last few words about the longevity of the battery. Being an Indian I probably failed to understand your pronunciation. But it sounded something like- you've already been using the speaker for three and a half years and expecting the battery to run for another five years. Or am I mistaken? If you could please clarify the matter,it would be highly appreciated. Thank you.

Hey thanks. Yeah, I looked back at the video and it appears that I said that I'd been using the speaker for about 3.5 years and the battery was working fine, so I expected to get another 1.5 years or so out of it before I needed to replace it. I can tell you now, 1.5 years later (lol), that the speaker's battery is still fine with light-to-moderate usage! Thanks for watching!

Nice video series. The battery is dead in my Soundlink Micro and I would like to remove the battery and get this to play solely from the micro USB connector's power input.... any chance you can detail how to do that, if it is even possible?

My guess is that it wouldn't work well, if at all. First I am not sure the speaker would operate with the battery removed. Second, even if you could remove the battery and power directly from USB, the amplifier is rated above that of standard ~10 Watt USB input, and might collapse power supply causing a bunch of issues. Does the speaker work at all when it is plugged in, even though its not taking a charge?

@@TheCuriousEngineerChannel It does not play or even power on when plugged in via the micro-usb now that the battery is completely drained. I use it at work connected to my laptop via bluetooth to play audio from zoom/teams meetings and low volume background music other times, so my expectation is that I would not tax the amplifier to its maximum power draw. I appreciate your response. I’m going to toss it in a box and add this to the project list for a rainy day.

Hi, very detailed and good video. I have a different issue with my bose soundlink micro. It seems to work, charge battery, but suddenly it dosen't speaks, It connects to a device but not play anything, it doesn't speak neither: "Battery at xx% ready to connect". I could update the firmware to the last available versión 3.0.1 but anything changes. What could be? the bluetooth, the speaker? Any ideas or test I can do to repair it? Thanks

Thanks! Have you tried a factory reset? Turn on the speaker, and then press and hold the power button until all the lights turn off. Then turn it back on again, and set it up again. Let us know if it helped!

Hi. Thanks for your answer. Yes, I've tried factory reset but nothing happens. Recently I tried pushing volume - and + at the same time and ir worked again for a couple of days. Connection and battery Voice info and music. But yesterday I was using it but suddenly no sound again, despite it keeps connected and I can action play and stop function in phone from Center button of the Bose. I'm using the same Android phone I always usted. I don't know why this happens
