Designed with solo singer/guitarists in mind, the new Boss Acoustic Singer Live & Pro are great sounding, 2 channel acoustic amplifiers with built in vocal harmonist, looper and effects. In this video, Sam and Meg, the acoustic guitar specialist at our PMT Portsmouth store, take an in-depth look at these fantastic new amplifiers...
Available in two different sizes, the Acoustic Singer Live offers 60 watt output with a 6.5" woofer, whilst it's bigger brother, the Acoustic Singer Pro, boasts 120w output power through an 8" driver. Aside from output power, speaker size, weight and cabinet size, both amps offer the same features.
Both feature a bi-amped design, meaning that the woofer and dome tweeter are amplified separately for greater clarity and to maximise volume. Both amps also feature two channels, one for vocals, the other for guitar. The vocal channel features a dual XLR/jack balanced input, pad attenuator, EQ, anti-feedback and delay/echo and reverb effects. Also included the vocal channel is a foot switchable harmonist, allowing you to choose from either a high, low or unison harmony, with the harmony note automatically following the guitar chords you play.
Very similar to vocal channel, the guitar channel also features a pad attenuator, EQ, anti-feedback and reverb, but there's also two different types of chorus effect to give you tone a little more shimmer. The final big feature on the front panel is a foot-switchable looper, offering 40 seconds of looping time with unlimited overdubs.
The panel of the amp offers a pretty comprehensive I/O, with balanced XLR outs, aux input, footswitch connection, headphones/line out and a USB out...meaning that the Acoustic Singers amplifiers can even be used a basic computer recording interface.

I have to say … this is a really well put together clip and tutorial all in the same segment. Nice Vocals and nice show and tell of how to time in both pedal action and button pressing to show off all the features.... a pity these are not available in New Zealand. Well done you guys!

I've owned the Roland AC-60 for a number of years, and absolutely love it. This new BOSS product seems to be the next incarnation, and with some extremely useful added features that would be perfectly suited for a vocalist/guitarist. I've watched some of your excellent gear demonstration videos, and have always been favorably impressed with the friendliness and enthusiasm that you show in them. I must say, Megan's song, "River Flow", at the very end, is just gorgeous. What a beautiful song, and perfect way to demonstrate the amp's capabilities, rolled into one :-). Seriously, the song put, both a smile, on my face, and a tear in my eye. Powerful, powerful song. Thank you, so much, for sharing these videos with us!!

Update one year later… bought the acoustic singer live… it truly is a magnificent piece of quality kit that really allows you to combine your voice with guitar and enough versatility to make this dull amateur sound… well like something people might listen to. The voice effects add depth and a little forgiveness The guitar does great on acoustic electric (Simon and Patrick Songsmith) or me venerable IYV Les Paul standard. Can’t speak highly enough about this adding it convinced me I still have years left in my voice that I was unsure would last.

lol! Me too! - It really did sound good and after watching this video I realized it has more features than all the big boys out there. An extra £200 for an extra 60w is not really worth the price, especially if you go with the balanced outputs into a mixer/pa system. I'd have thought that 60w would be fine for a solo artist in a pub too, that is pretty loud. Great review and performance though, glad I watched this just to discover yet another fantastic indie artist! :D

This is what I’m thinking ? Surely though anything past 60w if playing without speakers or P.A. system you’re not going to be able to hear yourself think never mind sing ? I’m torn between getting the 60 or 120

Now that is a good demo of an amp! Thanks! Just what I was looking for. After seeing all the features crammed into this amp, if it had Marshall, Fender, Fisherman, ect.... on the front of it, I would bet it would cost hundreds more! So far in this price range it kills the competitors! Even the phantom power is 48v instead of like the other guys out there 12 to 24v! But does anyone know what the service is like with BOSS? Compared to the BIG dogs out there, will it last me as long as my 1980's Dean Markley did? idk? - But I am close to pushing the BOSS BUY BUTTON!

I’m pretty sure that just like all harmony pedals like this you must play the guitar while singing or you will probably get a couple clunker harmony’s in the vocal. And having a previous guitar loop will not fill that need. I’ve used many harmony pedals and I did notice the girl has great pitch and a beautiful voice but when she was singing and not playing guitar the harmony went off a bit. Just something to know when using a Harmony pedal not a criticism of her vocals at all!

this is the best demonstration I have ever seen on a music product video and the young Lady singing was beautiful, 2 questions I have since I no longer play Acoustic guitar any more do to injury in one of my hands I can play electric because of less hand pressure you have to use on chords, with that said the harmony for voice probably would not sync in with the chord i'm playing that knowing I can't run my electric guitar in the amp but it seems I could still use this as a voice machine for harmony because it should pick up the pitch of my voice am I correct?

Brilliant this and thank you. I’m really considering getting one with all the effects I think it could add a wider dynamic to acoustic performance. Will this be loud enough to use alone without a P.A. system ? Reason I ask is, if you ramp it up, can you still hear yourself singing if you are using this with both guitar and mic and no speakers ?
