Boss at Six Flags St. Louis Review: Should It Be RMC'd?

In 2000, Six Flags St. Louis unleashed a new wooden monster to lurk in the surrounding woods. The monstrous wooden coaster known as the Boss would terrorize it's guest with many thrills and unfortunately with many rough patches. The shaky nature of this coaster would give it a bad reputation for being a very uncomfortable thrill ride. However even with the rough patches the coaster still delivers an out of control experience especially at night. So this begs the question, is the boss too rough? And should it be RMC'd? Find out my thoughts in our latest in depth review of the Boss!

When I rode the boss in 2017 I thought I could feel my brain shaking in my head on the final helix 😂

The midcourse is brutal. I liked the boss. It’s a fun ride. If rmc would come in it would turn into a world class coaster. Sfstl needs a good number one. I really like American thunder over the boss.

Good video. Six flags St.. Louis desperately needs to RMC this because I don't think six flags will put enough money into this park to really get that stand out attraction. Driving from Ohio, I always cruise right by this park and keep going on to SDC.

For me, the shaking is one of the best parts of this ride, it helps this fast ride feel even faster and out of control. This ride beats you up, tells you who's boss, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Do not RMC it!! When the track is in good shape, it is hard to beat!

It you want a smoother ride, take a ride on a steel coaster. Wooden coasters are supposed to give you the nearer to death experience, with the bit of give and the sound of the stress on the wood, that's what makes it fun!

Just visited the park for the first time a couple weeks ago. And for sure the boss was my favorite coaster in the park. As a fledgling enthusiast this coaster could not have been better in every way. As a matter of fact I'd even drive the fourteen hours from Denver just for this coaster and Prowler at WOF. Woodies will always have something steel can't. Out of control untamed intensity.

I have ridden the Boss and while it is rough, I never got a headache. I think the boss is perfect as it is and St. Louis should get a raptor instead of RMC boss

This was my 300th coaster! I rode this for the first time last month and I'm one of those people that likes roughness on woodies now. IMO the roughness gives the ride personality and makes it feel "alive" in a sense.

this is my home park too. I have very mixed feelings too. Sometimes the ride is running great and i wanna ride it 17 times but sometimes it’s rough as hell and one ride is too much

I went back to Six Flags last week and figured something out. I like sitting on the LEFT SIDE of the Boss. Then I get the padded wall of the car to hold me in place. If I sit on the right side then the lap bar digs into my legs pretty badly at those same points in the ride.
