All parts played and recorded by me. No tracks were used from the original recordings.

Nirvana was an American rock band formed in Aberdeen, Washington in 1987. They consisted of lead singer and guitarist Kurt Cobain, bassist Krist Novoselic, and drummer Dave Grohl. "About a Girl" is a song by American rock band Nirvana, written by vocalist and guitarist Kurt Cobain. It is the third song on their debut album, Bleach, released in June 1989.

I've listened to way too many demo's of these & hope I made the right choice. Every demo sounded different from the DS2 to being too midrange to too dark. I've come to the conclusion that everyone demo'ing the DS-1 may not have the same version. Some DS-1 pedals are brighter because they use a different op-amp then the one Kurt used & when his got stolen he went with the DS-2 because it sounded closer to version 1 he had.

I think its less about the pedal, but everything else - the amp, the IR, the speaker, the guitar. Both pedals have a nice distortion just a bit different flavor. Personally i like the DS1, but you cant go wrong with either! Thanks for the comment :)

@@andrewbenks I believe you're right with all of that. That plays a big part as well. I know with the FF I built I tried tranny after tranny until I got something I liked but with my Origin50 I had a Pal800 & I loved that pedal with my Ibanez TSA15H but with the Origin50 it sounded bad. My thinking was Plexish tone & Pal800 JCM800 didn't work.

@@TheCleaner6969 Ya some pedals like the DS1 are notorious for sounding great with some amps and speakers and trash with other combinations. Just gotta keep trying to see what works :)

Ds-1 sounds more like Nevermind era and the Ds-2 sounds a bit thicker it has more of the low ends but I wouldn’t it nails the sound of In utero on point, it is close but not quite there.

That's likely cuz In Utero is a Sansamp.

Are you using the “turbo” mode on the ds2? That’s a different tone altogether
