I had one for several months, true stereo rig. I was so excited, but just couldn’t connect with it. It reminded me of 80s tech I grew up in the best and most challenging ways. The interface was too arcane for me in that 80s program a vcr way. I sold it and replaced with a TC Electronic 2290P, instant love. ✌️😌🎸 While the Boss 3000 didn’t connect for me, your video did, another nice one! 🙂

Seriously, right? If you took an analog modulated delay, something like a JHS Panther Cub, and ran it in parallel with a second JHS Panther Cub in stereo, I think you might hear something similar in the wash of echoes, but the crisp fidelity of the digital really feels like it brings out something from the depths here.

@@StompboxBreakdown I think you're right about it being time for a digital delay revival. It's crazy how much time and effort has been dedicated to making digital things sound not digital that it's kinda refreshing to hear a clean, crisp delay sound for once!

I think you're right, dd will make a comeback, especially the epic, swirly style. It might be used differently, maybe not even in rock music, but it will come back. Great, inspiring video as ever!

New fan here! Have you by any chance heard of the Line6 ToneCore series of pedals? I’d love to hear your thoughts on those if you got your hands on some. I have the Dr. Distorto and the liquaflange from that line and they’re super interesting pedals.

I have one. I replaced my Strymon pink box with it. I had a Chandler Digital Stereo Echo in the 90s and regretted selling it, but it was cumbersome. I had used this unit to simulate that Chandler because of all the buttons and knobs it was easy. Following the manual and photos of the layout of the Chandler I get pretty close to what I remember it could do. Very nice unit. I you running it in an effects loop or straight through the front?

Hey dude! If you get into the dd20 sometime I would so so so appreciate a chance to talk about it on the phone or Webex thing- or get a guest correspondent spot on the video just because I am a power user of that pedal and love it to death. I wish more understood it's awesomeness but also wish it to be my secret.. it's a tough spot to be in lol. But if you explore it in a video I'm confident I could shed some light on a few features or quirks.. what a legendary pedal, had to shout it out since you mentioned in in this video.

That's a cool idea, thanks for the offer! I've written up (goes and counts) 3 scripts for a DD-20 video so far. As you know, it's such a powerful pedal, and so thoughtfully designed, and my problem is fitting it all into a 10-12 minute video because there's just so much. I could fill my time JUST talking about the ways the preset switching can be set up. Or the looper. Or getting an SDE-3000 sound out of the modulated delay setting. It's a beast. Every time I'm like "Ok, it's time to cover the DD-20 because people still aren't getting that this is probably all anyone needs", I wind up with way too many pages and it becomes an out-of-control project. But maybe one of these days.

Now that I know people are reading into the tea leaves of pedal wall orientation, I'm gonna start having fun with it :) It's a great pedal, haven't thought about doing a video for it, but maybe I should.

It’s a special pedal to me because I bought it as non-functioning and fixed it myself (blown diode). First of many at this point.

Great vid! I don’t have one but I actually really like the display. Are you aware that when Boss decided to miniaturise the SDE3000, the DD2 was born? They put the same chip from the 3000 into the DD2. It only just fitted across the board and the circuitry to accommodate it is a bit crazy. I’ve kept mine on a board for nearly 20 years, gigged and toured to this very day.

Oh wow, did not know that. Thats absolutely crazy, some of those early digital pedals really were just rack gear folded up and stuffed into a pedal. What an era.

Hi, There are 3 pedal suggestions ( I have all 3) I’d like to see/hear, if you have them. First is the Digitech FREQOUT, next, 2 difficult pedals. Meris Enzo and Source Audio C4 Synth. If these aren’t old enough, the best flanger ITW. The DOD Stereo Flanger FX 75B… Thanks… So you’re a Jersey guy! I’m across dariva.🤙🏻
