Just found this lesson. It was a little intimidating at first and I thought no way. But I stuck with it and am probably about 5 days from almost nailing this lesson after 3 weeks of dedicated practice. I am so encouraged. Thank you for breaking it down for novices such as myself. I've never been able to afford guitar lessons and lessons like these are close to my heart. It is so encouraging and makes me excited to get to my practice session. You make it look so easy. It might sound strange but I try to envision your hands attached to my wrists while making these chords. Cannot thank you enough for the challenge of this awesome video. I am in love with these chord voicings. Almost certain I would not be able to master these 9 beautiful chords without this lesson. I didn't even know they exist. Cannot wait to get to lesson 2.

Hi ! I've watched some "Bossa Nova lessons", for fun more than anything else cause I'm playing Bossa Novas since 1982, and your video is the more complete that I've seen. The person that watch this video can only understand, probably not why X chord is played like this or that, but how to play it, and that's the principal thing. Congratulations. BYE !

@JammerVideo It refers to a chord progression method, where we assign numbers against a list of tones. If you Google "2-5-1 progression," you'll find fuller descriptions for free. Here is a basic 2-5-1 chord progression: Dmin --- Gdom --- Cmaj (min = minor, dom = dominant, Maj = major). Hope that helps!

I really enjoyed this lesson. Very useful! I appreciate how you teach this jazzy chords since they are pretty difficult (at least for my slow hands). Also, the dual camera was pretty good because sometimes I find quite difficult to understand the rhythm. Maybe I would like to have heard you more time playing to figure it out the whole compossition but anyway it was a great video. Thank you. Edit: it would be great if the chords are in the beginning of the video so anybody can practice the lesson without losing time searching the chords.

Note that this video is from 2008.... the prehistory of utube:) It's normal that its editing and pace couldn't reach the standards of 2016. I had the same problem as you so I opened a second window with the same vid. On the right I had the charts (taken from the beginning of the video and stopped there), on the left a second window in which I had the video running. Problem solved:)

How is constructive criticism ungrateful? 2/3 of the video is just talk about stuff we already knew since we obviously searched for a very particular subject.
@user-kj5qy8ip5v5 жыл бұрын
@@azynkron your opinion isnt constructive criticism. Judging the level of convenience isnt constructive criticism. That's complaining. Constructive criticism is hey you should've added this chord in the video. Its widely used in this type of rhythm.
@ciano1515 жыл бұрын
for anyone who tries to use thiis progression. to make this prgoression fit in time with most jazz since most jazz is 8 bar, play each chord 4 beats but the last 2 chords just 2 beats each, or all chords 2 beats and the last 2 chords 1 beat each.
