I’m saying this from my heart. All these Hip Hop/ Rap artist with shoe deals, doing commercials for food chains, endorsements for main stream companies all should give Hammer his just do. He was the first to do it and got clowned for it. That’s Solid!

MEMPHIS and the Midsouth had so much love for hammer and vice versa! I was at the pyramid in 92 , I think the bulls just won the chip cuz boys to men was all wearing the finals hats . HAMMER said loud and proud THAT HE GOT THE GANGSTER WALK and GET BUCK! from MEMPHIS and gave Mtown its respect n props , then they hit that s*** on stage and the crowd went crazy! Damn I wish I could relive that night. My first concert ever as a teen

@@anthonywatts9139 true but that still paid him for decades and again his only Grammy. Which I thought was kinda sad but at least he finally got one since he was a great artist. But my main point was can't touch this did a lot for Rick which he originally hated the fact hammer used it but came around after he saw the checks. Which is understandable.

That was one of the sad parts of hammers story. He was a joke and punchline. He really was trying to uplift his community and race. Just to be called a sellout and laughed at for going bankrupt, regardless of how many people were on his payroll. Guys fresh out of jail unable to get jobs but hammer paid them. That's a solid man.

James was somewhat rusty when he got out of jail since he hadn't been performing in that whole period but he got a lot better pretty quickly. I would argue James in his 70s could outdance Hammer in his prime. Both terrific dancers to be sure.

I almost met Hammer in Austin Tx, It was 2001 or 02 he came to my college Huston-Tillotson University I was about 19 or 20 but I had a track meet that day and I was hoping we would make it back in time but I found out we missed him by 15 minutes. This same year at the same school I also got to meet my Football idol Jim Brown and in high School my favorite running Back Earl Campbell but I also ran track and played football against his older son.

Yeah he definitely know Stan who y'all call MC Hammer. Stan was that guy in the hood in Oakland in the late 70's early 80's. My mother and Stan's mother was good friends in the early 80's wwway before the character/artist MC Hammer existed, I even dated Stanley's little sister Neesha in 1981. Stanley was very generous to his Oakland peers specifically the crew he was mostly associated with The High St. Bank Boys who chilled by the Fairfax Liquor Store in which Stan's mother lived behind that infamous liquor store in some apartments on the first floor facing the streets. Stanley went bankrupt in 1995-96 because of his generous heart towards the people in the hood and helping everyone Benito speaking about. #Oakland #HighStBankBoys #FairfaxLiquorStore
