As someone from the Boston area that has seen concerts from A-Z, and two of the shows Boston did in a 5 night stay in Worcester, these boys rocked it. Brad you are greatly missed.

The bands from this era set the bar so high, it's no wonder today's bands suck, they just can't reach that level of musical genius. So much good music back then, so many joints, so much fun and so many memories!

Is anybody reading this in 2022? I n my opinion the Boston debut album and Don't look back are two of the finest albums of the vynal that I used to have before I give them all to my nephew who lives down south . He used to have a band but now is a family man but still has a big interest in all kinds of music like myself. His latest project was converting my late father's 78's . My nephew has appeared on radio in Manchester but had to move to the London area to make it work with an oversees wife.🏴🤩🤭😁❤️

16 then - and yes. Awesome. Biggest regret was missing Third Stage tour. I was out of town (Phoenix) for medical trip in Frisco driving my ‘68 Gulfstream Aqua GT Fastback (I still have in side yard), but caught The Doobie Brothers reunion with all 13 living members (all 5 percussionists) and picked up a chick hitchhiking in my ‘male’ days. We were the first two at the gate for Mountain Aire ‘87 at now burned-down Angels Camp, Cali where Journey filmed famous “ESC4PE” concert. Huey Lewis and the News, who were huge with #1s on chart at the time, opened for them. Doobies blew them off the stage, News joined them for finale encore. I was literally front row center pressed against the outdoor iconic stage. Tyrone, the bass player handed me a literal doobie - lol. I didn’t smoke it. I stayed sober at all shows to remember them, except secondhand smoke at Grateful Dead’s final tour with Jerry Garcia - lol. Best concert of hundreds I’ve ever seen. So, missing Boston was still fortuitous, but I’d so love to have seen them live. Delp’s suicide hit me hard.💔

@patrickgroll20465 жыл бұрын
First of all, he's a hell of great singer. Monstrous. In sports or music, Boston (the city) fans are oh so picky and incredibly quick to criticize. Second of all, I remember this show and the video doesn't really catch the atmospherics of this. I was there. The crowd was on edge, super emotional, haggard, exhausted, completely choked up over the whole marathon bombings memory and just really really raw. There's no way to describe the release and huge emotions it called up at ~8:15 when those huge power chords rip.

This song was the most popular tune at Roller World, in Tempe Arizona, when I was in Junior High School. It's energy is still unequaled. People would attempt very high jumps, flips, and spins, on rollerskates, when this song was played. Makes Ratt tunes seem like trite lullaby's.

I was lucky enough to see them in 1979 at the Texas World Music Festival. It was spectacular. It had just became dark and up out the stage comes this massive pipe organ with Tom behind it with a long fflowing cape and fog machine as he opens playing Foreplay/ Longtime. During their encore, they set the American Flag off in fireworks. Then Heart played. Concert was TKO, Sammy Hagar, Van Halen, Nazareth, Boston, Heart and Blue Oyster Cult. Quite the concert.

and honestly in a way, as sad and tragic Brad Delp's death was, it was almost as if his death was like the sacrificial lamb that allowed a vocalist who imo can sing his songs so awesomely to keep the 70's era of Boston alive and well right up until this very day :)

The thing I looooove about Tommy DeCarlo is he sucked in the beginning. Let's face it. BUT he poured his heart and soul into this once in a lifetime opportunity and this last tour he put on a DAMN GOOD SHOW! More important than how good somebody is, is how much they grow.
@sheatiller24654 жыл бұрын
@@dawnpoint Yeah. He has talked about how he learned on that first tour that he had to take care of his voice better, and you can hear in recordings from that year that he sounds a little rougher-voiced at times.
