Join me for a memorable walk through Boston's Public Garden and Common recorded on May 26, the Sunday before Memorial Day. Our journey begins in the Public Garden, where we admire the beautiful weeping willow trees and the statue of George Washington.
In the Common, we witness the awe-inspiring display of over 37,000 American flags, each representing a Massachusetts service member who died in military service since the Revolutionary War. This annual Memorial Day tradition, organized by the Massachusetts Military Heroes Fund, serves as a poignant tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our country.
We also visit "The Embrace," a powerful monument honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King. The monument features the quote: "Love is such a powerful force. It’s there for everyone to embrace that kind of love. Why don’t you embrace it?" - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As we continue, we pass by the visitor center, enjoy the Brewer Fountain with a lovely view of the gold dome of the Massachusetts State House, and conclude our walk near the Boston Common Tablet, which commemorates the founding of Boston Common in 1634.
