www.BostonLuxuryRealEstate.com - Located just below Boston's North End is the Waterfront - where boston began! With an extremely colorful and interesting history, from being the home to glaciers, to the Boston Tea Party, to today, where it is a popular tourist attraction and home to many of the city's top condominium developments. With it's pedestrian friendly environment, the waterfront is walking distance to Faneuil Hall/ Quincy Market, the new Institute of Contemporary Art, The New England Aquarium, Freedom Trail, Boston Common, North End, Chinatown, Beacon Hill, the theatre district, and many other historical landmarks and destinations.
On the busy Long Wharf, The New England Aquarium, with it's 200,000 gallon water tank is a kid's favorite. Whale Watching and various harbor cruise boats leave from here for sightseeing cruises among Boston's 34 islands, dinner cruises and trips to Cape Cod. Long Wharf is the oldest continuously operating wharf in the country.
The multi-story arch over the wide public plaza marks the throughway from Atlantic Avenue and Downtown Boston to the HarborWalk at Rowes Wharf, one of the cities most beautiful waterfront townhouses. During the summer months the adjacent hotel offers free outdoor concerts, dancing and movie nights on the water. The Residences at Rowes Wharf consist of 100 apartments and were built in 1987. They are a unique combination of quality craftsmanship, expansive water views and superb luxury hotel amenities. There is 24-hour concierge services, valet or self-parking, access to the Rowes Wharf health club and pool, and a marina.
Stop and have an ice cream at the 40' Milk Bottle outside the new renovated Boston's Children's Museum, a much beloved destination for kids of all ages.
Christopher Columbus Waterfront Park is the city's first waterfront park, encompassing broad lawns, a play lot, a spray fountain and performance area. The wisteria covered trellis provides shade during the day and is lit during the holidays.
The Institute of Contemporary Art's visionary new building sits on the edge of the waterfront, and provides dynamic areas for public enjoyment both inside and out.
Offering an urban lifestyle with gorgeous waterfront views outside your living room window are just one of the benefits of living on Boston's Waterfront, not to mention the close proximity to other areas of Boston either by public transportation or by foot. Imagine sitting in the privacy of your own home and watching the ever-changing and breathtaking sites of the ships and sailboats coming in and out of the harbor, the sparkling blue water, and the dazzling Boston skyline.
Battery Wharf is a mixed used development offering a luxury hotel, restaurants plus private residences. The Residences at Battery Wharf consist of 104 apartments. Battery Wharf is the home of the Luxury Fairmont Hotel and enjoys full services, a fitness center, fine dining and soon-to-open Exhale Spa.
Burroughs Wharf is home to Boston's Fire Marine Unit. This condominium complex has one of the most pedestrian friendly walkways on the waterfront, with great views of the harbor. Burroughs Wharf has 69 apartments located in two buildings.
India Wharf boasts the iconic Harbor Towers complex - twin luxury condominium towers directly on the water, and the large metal sculpture by David von Schlegell. One of Boston's first high rise buildings, and the tallest residential building in Boston, its 40 stories offer spectacular views.
The Intercontinental, with it's elegant, reflective blue glass architecture and sleek polished granite is poised on the edge of the waterfront.
Boston's South Station is hub of all southbound transportation to the city, including the Acela high speed train from Manhattan.
The Rose Kennedy Greenway is a vibrant, mile long ribbon of beautifully landscaped parks, gardens and plazas which runs right alone the waterfront of Boston. Offering summertime festivals, performances, promenades, art and gardens, the Greenway is the newest addition to downtown Boston.

If you need a taste of England but are unsure of getting a passport then save and goto Boston! You will experience both the pros and cons of England's lifestyles including traffic or anti traffic lifestyles. They try to make it seem like you can bicycle everywhere by discouraging cars the utopians fail to realize very few people/demographics except for casuals and those who are in fit and are really into the sport will bicycle and the ones that are fit and in shape are the ones that uses the bike trails to go the longer distances but it doesn't mean it's everyone's cup of tea. I DO like how England you can rent bikes and drop them off at kiosks without having to own one if you don't do it often.

Did you know that a law almost passed in 2009 that would force car makers to only make a kind of car known as an nicknamed (Obama car) that are two seater electric cars. I've seen a couple driving around and BOY do they look uncomfortable as your elbow is connecting with your passenger trading bodies. They wanted to make it the ONLY car your allowed to drive which they get exempted of course and had a system ready to go that would measure your fuel if you didn't and tax you if you commuted more then 3 miles. You would pay a FRICKING huge amount at the pump if you drove more often then Bob your neighbor. The idea is to get everyone to just walk or bike to work. It only works if you live in the metro where everything is close to you but not everyone's lifestyles are for it. You can't do Costco or buy things in bulk unless you own a decent sized car.
