Barry prevailed in Court and Tom has to pay Barry his original share of the royalties from the first two records which Tom tried to deprive Barry of. Also the corroborated facts and legal documents are very clear on the fact that Epic signed Brad and Tom at the same time because Epic knew that Brad's voice was an integral part of the Boston sound and that is what they bought and paid for when they signed Brad. We know that Brad formally left Boston before the Third Stage was released but he agreed to do do the tour. We also know that per Fran Sheehan that Tom was trying to replace Brad before the second record was recorded and released. We also know for a fact from multiple sources that Tom is VERY DIFFICULT to work with and that he is very autocratic guy with a Titanic sized ego who repeatedly either diminished or flat out ignored/lied about the contributions of others to the Boston debut record. Albeit 30 years after the fact, and after years of litigation, Tom finally came clean regarding who did what on the first record in the liner notes of the 2006 Scholz remaster of the debut record, and Tom FINALLY gave Brad (and Jim Masdea as well) credit for ALL of the arrangement work that Brad did on the songs on the debut Boston record. Tom also gave Barry credit for all of the guitar work that he did on Foreplay and Long Time. Tom also finally gave credit to Fran for his bass playing on Foreplay. The facts are these-Brad left Boston before the Third Stage was released. Brad joined Barry to work with Barry. If you want to see some thing that tells the story, watch videos of Brad when he is singing with Barry in one of Barry's bands and compare that to when Brad is singing on stage for Tom. Big difference.

@@neechee5150 I don't know which liner notes from 2006 you read that Tom "came clean" on but the ones available to everyone else only stated that he was pleased with the remixed recordings of Brad's older vocals. All this imaginary credit to any band member for writing Boston songs has yet to be seen. Your math isn't even adding up. Tom is a control freak indeed, but miraculously he relinquished the writing of Bostons materials to others in the band?? Make it make sense. Publishing was a thing back then too. If band members wrote material and didn't get credit it wouldn't have been kept silent let alone allowed to continue for the course of 2 more albums. Ridiculous. Most of songs were elaborate demos Tom made in his home studio before the two even crossed paths. @@PaulPaid 1. I clearly stated the specific liner notes that I referred to. They are the liner notes for the 2006 Scholz (not Sony) remaster of the 1976 debut Boston record. These liner notes are available to anyone who cares to do the work to find them and to read them. If you care to learn the history, Tom found out that Sony did their own remaster of debut Boston record and the second record without his input or approval. Tom got pissed and did his own remasters and put them on the market. Tom was not able to get the original master tapes. He had to buy copies from Epic/Sony. 2. Arranging a song and writing a song are two distinctly different things and anyone with a modicum of background in songwriting, song recording, and song publishing knows this. Any experienced musician knows this as well. Many different arrangements have been done of Bach's pieces, but Bach is still the writer/composer, and so it was/is with the songs on the debut Boston record. You either made your claim about what I was saying about who wrote and who arranged the songs on the debut Boston record either out of ignorance or out of a flagrant lie. However, here are the facts: Brad did in fact write Let Me Take You Home, and Brad did in fact co-write Smokin'. This is well documented and admitted to by Tom as fact. As for the arrangement work, I will quote the liner notes from the remaster that I mentioned which was Tom's pet project over which he had complete control. " Arranged by Tom Scholz and Brad Delp with help from Jim Masdea". If you do not want to take the time to do due diligence to do the research that is your choice but your refusal to find and look at the evidence does not in any way shape or form equate to this evidence not existing. 3. It is well documented as fact that Barry introduced Brad to Tom in 1970. Barry, Brad and Tom played in bands together before Boston was ever Boston. At no time did I claim that Tom ONLY started writing the songs for this record after he met Brad. You have been caught in a LIE. However, the time line of when Brad and Tom met through Barry is what it is. There is absolutely no doubt that Tom and Brad recorded demos years before the debut Boston record was recorded. As for proof, there are copies of Toms demos on KZfaq one of which is reviewed by Rick Beato. The fact that these demos exist and that Brad sang on them is absolute proof that Brad was a part of the "Boston" sound before the record the record deal was signed and before the record was released. Barry also played on some of Toms early demos as well and this is documented fact. 4. Brad Delp's vocals were on the demo that Epic and Boylan heard, and and because of that fact Brad was signed by Epic at the same time that Tom was because Brad's voice was an integral part of the Boston sound. The fact that Brad sang on Toms demos before the record was recorded is not debatable. It is FACT. Here is what Tom said under oath in legal documents pertaining to the Scholz vs Goodreau lawsuit : "Based on demo recordings on which Brad Delp sang all vocals, Jim Masdea played all drums, and Scholz played all other instruments, Epic Records signed Delp and Scholz to a record contract in 1975. Scholz had written all the songs on the demo recordings, and he alone produced, engineered, and financed the recording of the demos". 5. Tom was also forced to admit the following under oath in legal documents pertaining to the law suit between Barry and Tom. Goudreau's involvement in BOSTON 9. Goudreau is a talented guitar player. 10. Goudreau played on just two of the eight cuts on the debut album: "Let Me Take You Home" and "Foreplay/Long Time." Bassist Fran Sheehan played bass on "Let Me Take You Home" and "Foreplay." Delp played acoustic guitar on "Let Me Take You Home." Otherwise, excluding drums and vocals, Scholz played all instruments on the debut album, and performed on every song, performing more of the instrument tracks than all other musicians combined. [Added Note from the 2006 remaster liner notes: Barry plays electric rhythm guitar on Foreplay, Long Time and Let Me Take You Home. Barry plays the huge power chords on Long Time as admitted by Tom himself Barry also plays all of the lead guitar solos on Long Time as well. Barry plays lead and slide guitar on Let Me Take You Home as well. There are good reasons why Tom was not able to legally deprive Barry of his original share of the royalties from the first two records.] 11. On BOSTON's second album, Don't Look Back, released in 1978, Goudreau appeared on just four of the eight cuts: rhythm guitar on "The Journey," lead guitar on "Used To Bad News," and some of the lead guitar on "Don't Look Back," and "Don't Be Afraid." Scholz played the majority of the guitar tracks on these four songs, and all other instruments on all songs, except for drums and a few notes of bass guitar on "Don't Look Back." The legal documents that I am citing and quoting are easily found online and if you choose not to do due diligence to find them and read them, your refusal to do the work to find them and read them has no bearing on the fact that they do exist.

@@jeanclaude7018 Smoked pot. Worse however is when depression people decide to go off their meds on their own. I work with these people. On meds, they can have joy and productive days. Off the meds - "god" or a voice tells them thinge like " cut your neighbors tree down because .. ." If Brad went on and off the meds, or had a med change without someone supervising his response, that could motivate him to do as he did.
