This beautiful and mysterious Renaissance masterwork by Sandro Botticelli not only has over 500 species of plants, it has two romances and a moral message as well! This is a work of art about change: the change of the season and changes caused by the chaos of love.
Sandro Botticelli, La Primavera (The Spring), c.1480. Currently in the Uffuzi Gallery in Florence.

I,believe that,,his art,was,influenced by some,periods,of,depression and lonlinss,never,having married. The,Primavera, is my favorite.

I wonder if the model for this painting could have been the beautiful Simonetta Vespucci, as well as for "The Birth of Venus", as well as other Botticelli portraits... This painting was apparently painted a couple of years earlier than "The Birth of Venus", although that wouldn't have mattered, of course...

It was actually the fashion then, to look pretty pregnant. Glorified motherhood, and all that!

Women were glorified for being mothers. Rightfully so, you wouldn’t be here without one. Today.. Today chivalry is dead and there are 17,000 genders. For instance, today I identify as a ballpoint pen. Tomorrow I may identify as a birther. Oh and did I mention that I am vegan.
