Love these. I think it's time for me to break out that stash of bottle caps I've been hoarding. ;) Where you have the screw eyes, you could use head pins, which are jewelry findings. They are really easy and have a flat part. You would have to insert it from the inside before adding you acetate, and then make the eye on the outside with round nosed pliers. It would give you a much more polished look and you wouldn't see the threads of the screw on the inside.

There is a ring that you wear and it opens and closes jump rings. You wear this ring on your finger and place the jump ring into the slit and twist

Unfortunately I do not have a die cutter and so I was wondering if there is a way to purchase some of the 2 piece 1 inch foam circle die cuts that were used to make the Shaker Bottle Caps (beautiful )!
