The Bottom Feeder has been around for several years, and it is safe to say that it has developed quite a fan following. It has had its share of production issues, but rest assured that the newest version is the best.
To order: store.thebottomfeeder.com/
The new LiFePO4 batteries are a lithium battery type considered the safest lithium battery type available. They have a long cycle life, high power density, and a wide temperature range.
Safety: LiFePO4 batteries are considered one of the safest lithium-ion battery chemistries available. They have a stable chemical structure less prone to thermal runaway or combustion, making them a reliable choice for applications where safety is crucial.
Long Cycle Life: LiFePO4 batteries have an impressive cycle life, capable of enduring thousands of charge-discharge cycles without significant capacity loss. This makes them ideal for applications that require frequent cycling, such as electric vehicles and renewable energy storage systems.
With a 400-watt Power Inverter, you can quickly charge the bottom feeder while driving between stops. A 10-minute charge will give you seven minutes of battery life. You will want to use at least a 300-watt Power Inverter with the car charger adapter on end, and you can plug it into your car charger port (older cars' cigarette lighter port).
If you prefer to charge it at home, it will take about 2 hours to charge the battery fully.
The compact size makes this ideal for those pools that need more than a quick skimming but have too much debris for a traditional manual vacuum with a hose and a vacuum head. It is also great if you do not need the standard Vacuum System with the cart. The Bottom Feeder weighs just 12 lbs. and is fully assembled, including the battery pack.
Here is what the manufacturer says about the Bottom Feeder: "The Bottom Feeder " is a revolutionary pool cleaning system combining innovative technology and lightweight flexibility. Powered by a long-lasting rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack, The Bottom Feeder requires no hoses or lines - which saves you time and gives you the mobility and flexibility needed to vacuum pools in minutes. Designed by professionals for professionals, The Bottom Feeder is durable and practical and vacuums in as little as 4″ of water."
I like the portability of the Bottom Feeder. It is easy to carry back to my service accounts, and it takes less than 30 seconds to connect it to my pole and drop it into a pool. It is powered by an 18-pound thrust motor, which is less potent than a standard vacuum system but still very powerful. I only noticed a little power drop-off between the Bottom Feeder and my other Vacuum Systems. The Body is light and maneuverable, like using a standard manual vacuum head with the swivel on the handle. The great thing about it is that there are no hoses or cords, so using it couldn't be easier.
The Bottom Feeder would be ideal for a homeowner with large debris in their pool each week. The compact size makes this ideal for use and storage. If you have a pool route and only a handful of heavy debris accounts, investing in the bottom feeder would save you time without needing a full-size vacuum system and cart. Overall, Carrying back to your service accounts is a convenient vacuum.

I order 1 today, 1 hour later show that it was shipped, damm!Damm! Hope this helps my route since my riptide cart vacuum doesn't fit in a places. (3 weeks later update) Compare to the riptide, this will never replace the Riptide, riptide is just a beast!! Also carrying this bottom feeder, it feels same heavy as my 50ft hose with vuccumhead attach to it, so is not very lightweight, is also very weird to carry around, theres no simpleway to put it on the floor or even attach the pole is not simple as in click and go because of the weight and has no balance. I would say great for spa or fountains and places where my riptide cart wont fit, but other than that, for $1500 is meh.

Was pretty pissed my bottom feeder battery failed at a year and they wanted over 500 for a battery. I’ll stick with my RipTide

David what’s the micron level of the bag? And honestly you should work with riptide to make bags for this. Really riptide should make bags for everything, just an additional source of revenue for them. They came up with an incredible bag system. If riptide would make a bag for this, I’d buy it.
@SPL
@SPL 5 ай бұрын
100 microns and 57 microns. Riptide is probably too busy to focus on making bags, but that is a good idea for them! 👍

I’ve only cleaned pools on a route for six months, inherited a hammerhead Vacuum and cart, is this worth it for 50-60 pools a week, 12 a day? Or do you think the cart is easier to deal with.

I haven't personally tested it yet but the only drawback so far is the weight of the battery pack. Suction seems great. They recently went to lithium nickle ion batteries to make it a bit lighter. Also, the battery pack is not waterproof and I know someone who shorted theirs out. No perfect product exist but I would say it is good enough.

What about small debris and dirt will it get dirt up too?
@SPL
@SPL 5 ай бұрын
To a point. Since it uses less thrust than the larger systems you can use their 57-Micron bag. But fine dirt, no.
@mikedaflame8483
@mikedaflame8483 5 ай бұрын
So if there will be dirt remaining you wouldn’t be able to vacuum it with this device then it would almost be like you’re having to do a double job because if you vacuum it with this device and then there’s still dirt that’s going back into the pool you won’t be able to vacuum again because it hasn’t settled so the pool could potentially be cloudy and you have to wait to come back the next week to get it up. The only thing that I wish they did make a bag that actually gets the dirt because they can just like the vacuum daddy ordered that product thinking it would get up the dirt and then it was just spitting dirt back out making the pool look even worse than it did. I wish they would just make a bag that could get it up. that’s why I bought a portable vac because it has a filter

I have both batteries and the new generation battery is definitely much more weaker I notice instantly have you been able to notice the differences
@chulcho5618
@chulcho5618 4 ай бұрын
Yes same here. I talked to the people at their warehouse and they said it's about 20% less strength than the previous battery. I honestly don't think it makes a huge difference but the benefit of the new battery is that since it's less powerful, all the debris doesn't get to to the top of the bag, thus causing less clogging when youre using the 57 micron bag

To me it felt like the propeller is spinning slightly slower. But as you see in the video it plowed right through a pile of leaves with no issue. It's a trade off for having a battery that last longer, can be recharged in your truck and won't - you know...

While the bottom feeder is an amazing product, i dont understand one thing with the battery. I know the plumbing they use for the battery is probably black abs but why dont they paint/coat it with something lighter so it doesnt get so hot in the sunlight. Ive painted both of mine with white plastidip and they stay cool to the touch all summer long and they stay in the bed of my truck while working. My bottom feeders are 4 and 2 yrs old and ive had zero issues with the batteries. I wish i could say the same for the switches but theyre pretty terrible.

A new switch is on the way that is supposed to be the "holy grail" of switches. Should be out now. As far as the black battery case I hear you, It does get pretty hot, however I keep mine in my truck when not in use. Los Angeles area. 👮
