The Battle Of The Year has come a long way. Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out in 1990 in a local youth culture centre with 500 hard-core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and b-boy crews from all over the world?
BOTY has grown massively - and we have slowly realised our vision of developing the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience.
BOTY 2015 was huge - and our aim is to keep it growing, evolving and pushing it to become the best Battle Of The Year we can possibly achieve, to once again prove that the event has earned its position as a pinnacle of the breaking and b-boying scene. Let’s celebrate a quarter-century of BOTY history together! Keep on rockin’ the next 25 years!

I don't know why some people say that MF should have won. They have flips and tricks but if you watching on the details like hitting a freeze or being synchronous in routines you see why most of the judges voted for Flooriorz. Japan is also more creative in my opinion, its not all about athletic its bboying ;D Thats my opinion

Laughing Gas agreed. plus the routines are fuckin all over the place. might be creativity to some, but for me, u have so many different concepts...u lose the plot of the whole routine. i prefer old school routine, where theres a group routine that introduces a guy/girl in, who will solo. now its group routine 1, 2, 3 then a solo guy. they need to chill

He did have some classic bboy funk right there as well as his own signature beats. He did a great job, however, i agree that some beats he used are too electronic. Peace

Agree, the songs are crap! (well I like funky tune...) And the choregraphie style of these battle are very boring too. In the old days every team use to have one or two team routine, now it's too much.

Boty died when they moved it to France. Then when they moved it back to Germany, it wasn't the same. It lost its magic. I stopped watching boty after 2008.

+Wetdookie the same with Red Bull BC One. 2013 went amazing and since it moved 2014 to France where many mistakes happened and the System wasn't the best, it's getting less and less interesting.

Dope battle... Dope final!!! Melting Force was on point, fire... But Flooriorz had more details in their dancing to hit the beat! So it was close, but I would give it to Japan, even though it was risky to finish with such a poor set, when Melting Force had dropped an awesome routine in their last round. Trixx is amazing as a speaker, he got the right voice for that. the camera views were also really good. peace peace peace

So they still allow floorriorz to compete even though they are actually a super crew, they allow body carnival to add bboy assasin from Kaiten ninja, they they give Taiwan, china and Japan their own BOTY but they take away BOTY Korea and not allow a Korean crew to compete this year... hahah sorry but IMO battle of the year is getting worse and worse every year

It is probably the first year there is no Korea team show up in the final event. I highly doubt that it is BOTY that does not give KOREA Elimination. There maybe some other reason like Korea teams show no interest?

@Kanklesisgod - I think it's messed up as well that floorriorz gets to still compete. They are a super crew that was basicially created to compete at boty. They allow that but end boty korea lol. I miss the good old days of battle of the year

Music was dope IMO especially the first beat kicking it all off, it's refreshing to hear something different than the same old bboy breaks we've heard for years. I prefer hitting the practice session with beats like these. But then again it's just me.

I haven't followed breakdancing in many years, but imo it looks like the individual talent is much lower with a much heavier focus on routines. The little i saw from power moves seemed a bit sloppy, feet dragging the ground and not much of flow when crossing over between moves.. but the team routines seem much more synchronised and "complete" compared to 15 years ago.

Red bull bc one good~ The strength of the Japanese team is originally idiosyncratic style movement. 대한민국The Republic of Korea moves stylish styles and moves with smooth power movements. Nowadays, Japan has plenty of B-boys who enjoy power movements and styles together.

I may not know as much about BOTY like you do, but it seems for me that BOTY is getting less and less interesting. I´ve seen older videos with more than one millon clicks (like Red bull BC One 2005 for example) but right now, there is less and less interest on these events and I would like to find out the reasons for that....and about the Battle: It was great from both of them, i agree with Flooriorz win, but dancing is far more than routines, because doing them every round can be boring
