Love watching repairs of old things like this; wish more people would fix their crap when it breaks rather than just tossing it in the garbage. It's thanks to you and a couple of others that gives me that mindset, so, thanks again.

I mean, there are an estimated 500,000 Victor Victrolas left. Thankfully, a lot more people care about repairing and maintaining their stuff than you’d think!

Hope to see some more new computer videos this channel is like an archive of vintage computers Have any more vintage dell videos coming up? Desktops are always my favorite for some reason lol. Would love to see you push a old pentium3 to it's full potential with linux.

Make sure all the tension is released or it will spin like crazy when you remove the barrel. Ask me how I know.

Where did you get the bearings for the needle arm and what size are they? Did you mike them by any chance?

I ordered them from John Nagy from his online store called www.phonographs.org/ you can email him directly and tell him exactly what parts you need john@phonographs.org I found ordering from him was pleasant however because I live in Canada it was a bit expensive shipping those tiny bearings. You can try going to a local hardware store to search for some. You need a total of Five (5) 1/8" (.125") ball bearings.

I'm working on repairing my vv-ix and the top spring is missing the lip at the end where it grabs onto the bigger gear and won't turn. I might try to bend it back myself or buy a new spring but I'm not sure where to purchase one?

Looks more like a 1917. The only Victrola in 1907 was the VTLA model. (Sorry the nerd in me was triggered 😂)

cool! Wonder if this model was originally called the talking machine because it was used for dictation and blind users like the talking book CDs
