They say art lives with constraints and FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is one of the best examples of it.
What I am about to do has not been approved by the Vatican.
The stripped-down approach to horror of FAITH goes far beyond what you see in the indie horror scene. Using the aesthetic of Apple 2 and Commodore 64s as a reference, FAITH is able to derive a phenomenal amount of horror out of its limits.
FAITH is a well-paced title that gets the most out of its minimalist, simple gameplay. It's able to build out a story that intrigues the player. FAITH: The Unholy Trinity is a story of wavering faith and finding the strength to carry on in the face of evil.

FAITH is a nice reminder that you don't need a team of hundreds of people, GBs of shaders, and a bombastic style to scare or engage the player.
Like several games on this channel, FAITH is one I've been meaning to play for a long time. When I finally did play FAITH, I was kicking myself for not having done so earlier. Let's take a look at why.

The mix of rotoscoping with a very retro color palette really gives this a unique feel. I’m not much on the usual retro style, but am tempted to try this.

I've never liked the forced over distorted voices in indie horror. I know the game is smart if has silence in some parts though. I like the idea of an 8-bit horror, and the art style and design looks like they knew what they were doing. I'll pick it up someday. Thanks for the review.

0:13 Basically one of the only times in the entire game you'll actually hear a non-TTS voice play (there's a faint, human female voice that whispers the word "PRIEST" at the same time as the TTS voice here).

Remember, Gary Loves You! This game proper creeps me out. I have only been able to play very little myself and had to resort to longplays to actually see the endings. I urge everyone to give it a go!

Two movies come close to feeling like Faith. Mandy (in style) and The Pope's Exorcist (in plot). I highly recommend both.

Try out The Final Station for another really fun pixel art horror game from a foreign developer! I can't remember if it's polish or not but it wouldn't surprise me since they seem to know wtf they are doing!

Really love this game's C64 style of graphics, and did an honest and incredible job of replicating that style. It kinda reminds of Friday The 13th on C64 in a way.
