Күн бұрынWanting to escape bad weather, we make our way over to the Sea of Cortez for a few days of camping in a lush cacti grove. Then we decide to head south and take the scenic route that comes in the form of a remote 4x4 road that cuts through a massive wildlife preserve. The decision is rewarded with great company, incredible views, and some insane beach finds.

Finally diving into your Baja series and absolutely loving it. Your videos have such a unique style and pace, totally you. I find they lower my cortisol levels which is always welcome and the music is a vibe, Everly and I are dancing around the house ❤ This is also making my heart ache for more time in Baja. Love that stretch of road and it seems like there are always more tracks to explore along the way. I've been fortunate to have camped at or close to many of the spots you've shown, with some nice gems worth finding in between. Happy Trails!

Excellent video! We really enjoy all the birds (and other wildlife, flowers, plants, bones, shells and fossils). We were overland bird nerds before ya'll coined that phrase! Exploring those tidal pools - you would enjoy the book "the log from the sea of cortez" by Steinbeck. The one chapter that is hard to read was written by someone else... when it starts to drag... skip that chapter. :)

Great video. I am working in the North and cannot wait to get back. FYI- You do not really need to worry about using your drone in Baja or mainland Mexico.. The laws and rules are confusing but as long as you are Mavic down (smaller than a Dji Inspire) you will never have any issues. Only possibility for trouble is around government or military areas or if you are competing for work with a Mexican drone operator.

My husband and I travel extensively in the search for birds around the world, and we’re in our late-20’s/early-30’s… there are plenty of birders out there who aren’t “old”… welcome to the club 😎

For us its certainly a thing. We do it every morning. And the water ended up being so cold, and there was effectively nothing to see, so we didn't take any shots. It was all very brown underwater there

When you pulled into BOLA at the beginning, you turned north out of town… did you stay at one of the places with camping and palapas, or did you find wild/free camping?

No we tend to find free/remote camping. We prefer to be alone if we can. its quieter that way
