I just got them and I love them. The Andrew Robinson review gave me a bit of a letdown, but hell, I am no audiophile. Listening to them now and feel great satisfaction. Maybe those with more experience and knowledge will find things to quibble about, but I'd say for most of us, they are excellent.

It just goes to show , trust your own ears . These s2 didnt seem special at first but over time when you get to know them a little . Top notch for the price .

i bought these a few months ago,yes in the first few weeks they sounded very very harsh from the treble i didnt enjoy the experience and thought i have made a mistake purchasing these,but i gave them time and they have settled down now,very good value for the money and positioning is key to get the best out of them

Just found you on youtube & when I saw the B&W's had to view you as I had recently purchased them. Your presentation is very good & you brought up everything I noticed so I know where your coming from. So I now have a new source of info for my hifi. When I first put these speakers on (I never owned B&W's before). I was blown away after 45 years of various brands, Q acoustics, Missions, Kef. etc. But these B & W's bowled me over & the wife walked in & said she had never heard such good speakers they are so musical with such detail & depth ( that music hung in the air beautifully). I decided there & then to upgrade the rest of my system (again) to see what I could achieve from them. So it's to marantz pm & cd 6007 ( lovely sound ) & rega planar 3 white to match the white B&W's. I just based this round those B&W's I can't wait till they have been run in. anyhow you have a new viewer thanks to your great detailed reporting.

I’ve had many B&W models over the years, really enjoyed their Made in The UK 🇬🇧, but haven’t much enjoyed the made in China models. Having said that, I auditioned these Anniversary models and they are very transparent. Nice revealing forward sounding, but not aggressive. They are also aesthetically pleasing in Oak. I think the bi wire option is unnecessary. The difference between bi wire and regular connection is insignificant. Equipment matching is important. The included foam bungs are a nice addition to tame bass in smaller spaces. What HiFi gives them five stars. If you respect their judgement. I personally feel they are pretty accurate in their reviews.

Thanks for the thoughtful review. Since I’ve already purchased these it was a fun dose of bias confirmation 😋 I’ve found little need to toe in rhe 606s as the imaging is so good. YMMV

I have the older Bowers and Wilkins 685s2 speakers and use Rega turntables, Audiolab 8200cdq and Arcam fmj a19 amplifier. I bought the speakers first and matched the rest of my system after seeing what hifi's you tube video of my speakers and, what they recommended. Love my system. Feel free to have a look and listen to them on my wee KZfaq channel. 😉

B&W's, while not bad at all, are the opposite of accurate and uncolored, they are in fact quite colored, with a v curve eq, somewhat elevated bass and elevated treble. The treble from those tweeters being the polarizing point for some and what makes some less than ideal recordings not sound so great through them.

I love mine, although I don't disagree with what you are saying. I just got through auditioning the Klipsch RP-600M which, to me, were all treble and bass and drove me crazy. I guess it just depends on the presentation and what appeals to the listener.

Agree, but many are drawn to that aggressive forward sound.

Agreed, I had to return mine since I was getting listening fatigue from these. Not my cup of tea. Switched to PSB Imagine series and couldn't be happier.

He is dancing around regarding the sound quality. Refuse to use "neutral" to describe the sound. In other words, it has its own sound signature. Likely boosted treble and may be boosted base. Which also means it may not for everyone. Calling it "taking some time to get used to" can be a red flag.

a speaker is not an instrument.. and it should not be,... it has to replicate the instrument not add its own character... if you like that ? maybe get a hearing measurement or listen to differently mixed music.. use EQ or whatever. its just a rather bad design from a company this huge there speakers used in studio's do not measure like this design.. its clearly made to make some people happy with a considering hearing loss above 8 khz. it does not make it a good speaker though.
