It's probably easier to be consistent with loft by using a lot less knee bend, than squeeze and throw it upwards at different amounts. Thanks JR, nice video !

Could you do a video of the opposite? I've developed a loft over time and I cannot seem to "snap" the ball down early like I used to. Would be nice to see some tips how to not loft the ball for bowlers that have trouble getting out the ball sooner. Great videos by the way!

What about lofting for Two Handed Bowlers?

That's the easiest. Namely when you don't use your thumb. But the most fun and intimidating during a game from 1st frame to 12th. Not necessarily. It has it's advantage but in time. When I see guys slipping with 2 handed style I see the disadvantages. The advantages. Is namely you have your weaker up not too far away from you. So you are able to gather info on the lanes every second. And the weaker arm and weaker hand doesn't become a distraction. Plus quite a lot more things. So in all honesty it's the easiest style there is. The most fun not necessarily. The most intimidating not necessarily. The better way to not slip and fall not necessarily. You can definitely loft way easier without your thumb doing 2handed. And that's basically why they gave that no thumb hole rule. So 2handers will eventually see it's not that intimidating and it's not as fun as it seems.

Depends on how you want to loft it. There's 2different types of loft. The higher one and the lower. The higher would obviously drop harder and curve more. The lower would be much more straighter. The higher loft is often trying to curve the ball more using more angle. While the more direct and lower is basically punching more forward to get a stronger force once it hits friction. I lofted 20ft and had 5 strikes in a row with my style so obviously it is a style. Style is when you can create more adversity while following the rules. When it's not a style. It's limited. And doesn't really follow the rules. If you can loft it, and you can do a back up ball, and you can make your angles straighter and you can curve it more. And it follows all the rules. That's a legit bowling style.

It also depends where you loft it from. If you loft it from gutter to gutter 20ft it will land 20 ft after the foul line. If you loft it from 20ft before the foul line it will land just 1-2 ft after the foul line. Therefore there's different effects. I can do both. And I again with respect to lane maintenance. I tend to not do it. You have to remember. When you loft it 20ft and it lands 20 ft after the foul line. You'll create bumps 20 ft after the foul line. If you loft it 20 ft before the foul line and it lands 1-3 ft just after the foul line. It will create bumps within the first 2-3ft before the foul line. Causing other bowlers to adjust where those bumps are. When the ball lands. It will skid as usual. When you loft it 20ft after the foul line. It will have less time to get into a role phase. Rather then if you loft it 20ft behind the foul line and it lands 1-3ft just after the foul line. It will instead have more time to get into a role phase. The oil will help it skid eventually. Less length less time. More length more time.

My ball lands either at the arrows or slightly past the 2nd / 3rd arrow. I stand a foot away from the foul line.

Best loft is not excessively giving it height but remains constant in the air having more length. Lofting it higher and higher you tend to lose accuracy. I used to loft 20 ft before the foul line. And still get 5 strikes in a row on a sport pattern. Guys be like. They haven't seen anyone do that. They've seen guys lofting it in front of the ball return But me I go all the way back. I wasn't having my approach further then everyone else but instead behind everyone else. You gotta be careful doing excessive lofting because of that triple dribble. I don't do it anymore. But damn did it intimidate everyone in the house. Even the best of them. Because I have 1 hand behind my back and I was still striking

@@allenthomas914 you also have to remember why quite a few players wouldn't necessarily like that loft technique namely when it's done to the extreme. And especially when it's not working. If it's not working. It's screw up the oil pattern. And other guys will have to adjust.
