Bowmar has a hunting arrow video that's 1 hour 45 . It's good. Better than this. Although this is more concise and explains a bit more about twist rates. But bowmar explains weighing and trimming everything so every single arrow comes out within a grain or two. Fletches vary in weigh, and he goes as far as weighing them before useing them. These practices are what good riflemen use. Weighing the case, and bullet, and primer, so everything can be checked along the way.

Gold Tip arrows are so great and so underrated. Other companies keep coming out with new stuff and gimmicks. Gold Tip just keeps chugging with affordable, super well made, and durable arrows. I hope they never stop selling Ultralights. I'm squaring a dozen by hand right now.

We've been building ours the exact same way using different arrows. Cut, square, clean. I FINALLY spent the money on that LCA jig. I bet I could have saved hundreds if I had only got the wallet out back in the day. Gonna have to give those TD vanes a nod. Been shooting AAE and FF. Time to tinker. Love the boot camp videos! "Basic" training on the fundamentals of everything archery. 👍👍

Thanks Levi! Great information that you shared and opened my eyes. Went out and found out my arrow spin to the left. I have a right helical clamp so I ordered a left clamp. I don't care about your hunting setup as it's most likely very close to your target setup. I am shooting your broadheads so I'm hoping everything will turn out evenly??? I would also like to ask another question Levi? When choosing a particular length for your arrow, do you like cut off and leave x-amount of inches past your riser then see how arrow flies then start cutting off 1/4 of a inch at a time????? I know of course there is a ruler out there that tells your draw length but is that just a wild guess or is it precise????? Thank you and if course keep winning!!!! Your a remarkable archer!

I know that this is two years old, but I have a question. If you were going to shoot Indoor 300 rounds, would you use this same set up or would you use feathers. I am older, 61 years old, and have shot more indoor than 3D. I have always thought that a well made vane would be more consistent from vane to vane in weight than feathers, yet most use feathers indoors and canes outdoors. What is your opinion on this? Also, can you tell me the brand of those jobs and weights and wraps. I have always preferred a shield cut over any other vane or feather. I no longer compete, but I would like to set up one more perfect set to just shoot in the back yard.

Far be it from me to question the expert...but i was taught to remove any oils from fingers by wiping the fletching surface of the arrow and the gluing surface of the vane with iso alcohol. I noticed (not picking or judging...just noticed) you even rubbed the side of your nose...a known oily area of the face... And then touched the arrow and vane with that hand.

Can the same bow throw a different arrow the other way. Like if your bow throws that arrow left would it throw right if you shot a different arrow
@christopherwatson283
@christopherwatson283 3 жыл бұрын
When that pronock splits in half and blows your bow up. You'll learn that one. Try running a left fletched arrow marked with a string attached on the front at whatever your test range is. Whatever your nock stupidity is. It is not worth the Time. That string will be wrapped around the front of the arrow. I'd say at 2 ft. At least once. The Vanes are applied at release. They have Tension before they are Released. Sort of like a gun. It's wanting to spin according to the Physics applied. It doesn't act up after released. All that money and time. Do a slow mo. It's easy to see. Clockwise for Righty's. CounterClockwise is for lefty's. You have the tools to build them. Nice stuff. Do you mix the Clockwise ones with CounterClockwise Ones??

Thanks for the video and the free education. Do you weigh your arrows to determine the difference in weight? I notice about a 2.5 grain difference in a dozen arrows. Is that something to be concerned about. Shooting a Mathews Traverse, 60 lbs. and 29" draw length. Shooting mostly local 3D and practice rounds.

If "clocking" is so important, why don't the arrow manufacturers make the factory fletched arrows left helical?
@user-nx8kk9no3x
@user-nx8kk9no3x 10 күн бұрын
Because it depends on the twist of your string. Sure, most strings are twisted clockwise, thus, giving you a left clocking arrow. But not all are twisted clockwise. ABB is one example, where their strings are twisted counter clockwise, thus, needing a right helical. They do straight fletch from factory so that it doesn't matter which way and it can work for all set ups.

I did this for shooting whisker biscuits for years. Improves fletching longevity big time. Don’t know about on the back end though. Now... honestly I shoot a true glow Range Rover drop away rest with shrink fit fletches and love the results. Easiest way to fletch an arrow and you get uniform repeatable results every time. Also.... a one pin adjustable sight took me out another 30 yards. Hope this helps.
