Too early to compare him with anyone, though, he’s shown excellent promise. How he shapes up when out of form will tell us about the mental side of his game. In the meanwhile one hopes that he continues to work hard and cements his place in the Indian team in all formats. Unnecessary comparisons with legendary cricketers puts pressure on him at this early age and will only distract him.

Form may Waxe and vane. But his calibre is extraordinary.

Absolutely, I always watch U-19 world cups to look out for future batting superstars and I haven't seen a more complete and great batsman than Shubman Gill aged 18 at the under 19 world cup of 2018. He had his basics covered from a very young age

Virat is a far far superior batsman. He delivers when it matters. Even Sachin's statistics in successful chases is not very good. This sets Virat apart from ordinary mortals. It's too early to compare Gill to Sachin. Leave aside Virat.
