Damn I almost nailed my guess on the new add-ons to the bow. Great job Bowtech for adding the reckoning adjustable grip and the cams with timing. Only surprise I had was the sight pocket which as you said MFJJ adding that pica-tinny rail. Thank you MFJJ for a great bow review as always.

Coincidental that today I shot the Core SS and found this review. Thanks for laying it out in a way I can relate with the specs vs related opinion. Funny how the draw cycle, vibration and tunability were my most noticed three takeaways after I shot it. Thanks for your review. Very helpful.

It's crazy how many features they can put on the Bowtech, and yet you have other companies with much larger marketshare that are falling so far behind
@derekbonser-xk7bz8 ай бұрын
I wouldn’t say far behind. There’s things that work and things that are gimmicks.
@briank45338 ай бұрын
@jons7e I couldn’t agree more with you. Popping clips off my Hoyt then dealing with the spacer in order to shim cams is a pain. My Bowtech is a breeze to tune. Bowtech owns the market IMO.
@YoureSoVane8 ай бұрын
I don't think it's that big of a deal. Shim or tilt the cams once and you probably don't need to do it again until the next string change. I buy the bow for how it shoots after it's tuned. As long as it has the range of adjustment needed, it doesn't bother me.

@@YoureSoVane99% of shops are not tuning your bow to its best. They can't, and it would require customers to be a good shot. Fixed blade broadhead users should be looking at tunable w/o a press bows.

I picked one up a couple of weeks ago. I am currently shooting at 60# with a 29.5" draw and a 350 grain arrow & am getting 300-304 fps. Nice bump over my Carbon Icon which was shooting at 284 fps at the same poundage, but the bow was maxed out. The Core SS is turned all the way down, so I can gradually go up in poundage. Thinking I'll keep the Carbon Icon, as it's a nice & light rig. Also makes a great backup bow that has served me well.

I'm glad they brought the micro-adjust cam timing to other bows in the lineup. The CORE system, just like the Bridgelock on Mathews, and the Picatinny rail mounts, is dumb, in my opinion. It provides Clearance for a low-profile quiver, but sights are not designed to sit further in on the riser, so the mounting bar has to be offset and the body of the sight has to sit where it would have otherwise sat if it was bolted to the side of the riser. Otherwise you may run out of windage, depending on how well your bow is tuned. So until they start making sights that are designed to sit in front of the riser (which will exclude a huge percentage of the market) then it's just a money grab so sight manufacturers can make money on upgrades to older models of their products.
@justinroethel74248 ай бұрын
I'm not a BowTech guy but I am impressed. @podium archer on the pic mount, I agree with you it would be nice to have more options, maybe!!!!! tell the rep at BowTech moving forward keep the "core" mounting option and add a predrilled and tapped (above/ below the core" so an archer could add a pic mount over the "core" mounting option if he or she chose to.

I have been a Mathews guy historically, but I don't want to be one those guys who just buys a name. I liked the ATA on this bow and all the features Bowtech has that no one else has. I tuned this bow in my living room and had it shooting a bullet hole within an hour. My Mathews VXR never quite tune, even after changing top hats many times. You cannot beat this thing. The draw is butter, it tunes very easily, and shoots awesome.

5:03 The Orbit Dampener itself (without mounting bolt) weights 48.8 grams / 1.72oz each. The pair weights 97.6 grams / 3.44oz. I didn't weight the mounting lug but I would estimate it's 40-50% the weight of the damper. Calculated at 40% figure another 1.38oz for the pair for a total hardware weight of 4.82oz or just over 1/4lb added bow weight. Some people get a metallic ring from their Bowtech's Orbit Dampers which provide little to no damping, as evidenced by this channel. So, if you're looking to offset sight and quiver mass, you'll likely do it more effectively and with less overall addition of weight, with a side bar or offset front bar.

It looked like (especially on the last shot of the vibration test) that the highest vibration number comes during the draw cycle, not the shot.

It's me. I don't understand why a little vibration is an issue. Honestly, I don't know if my bow vibrates. Of course it does but I just don't pay attention to it. And to pay a bunch of money for a meter seems kinda silly. I told you it's just me.

Well from my experience I’ve owned a bowtech revolt for 5 years now… 2 years ago I bought a V3… I hated it! The vibration on it was so much compared to my revolt j sold the V3 2 weeks later. Most likely gonna buy this SS as my second bow now :)
@BlairThibault8 ай бұрын
I had a V3x so I had no clue what vibration was then I shot a pse 34 and felt it for the first time and it wasn’t anything crazy. People make vibration seem like it’s the end of the world but it’s zero issue imo. Throw a stabilizer on and you’re okay

I'm deciding between the Eva Gen 3 and this bow. I'm not comfortable with the ATA of 28" on the Eva, and my draw length is 26". The Bowtech website indicates the minimum draw on this bow is 26", but you mention 26.5" in the video. I live in an area where I'll have to ask my local shop to order one of these in for me and at a 50 pound draw weight, I need to be sure the specs will fit me as my shop may have trouble selling this bow to another person. I would really appreciate clarification on this point.

@d500mag28 ай бұрын
Hey Mr. MFJJ, I am hoping you can answer this question for me. In regards to the ATA measurement, how do the different manufacturers take that measurement? When reading a print a person would notice 3 basic types of measurement ITI = inside to inside CTC = center to center OTO = outside to outside For a people who work on bows ATA(axle to axle) should be the same as ITI(inside to inside), if so, ATA would be bottom of top axle to top of bottom axle. Also, is the brace measurement the same if you use the berger hole.
@davidprice27738 ай бұрын
I checked out the new review videos and I think the vibration meter is reading a higher count when you hit the back wall on your draw cycle vs the actual shot in some of the bows. I think you should have someone reset the vibration meter when you are at full draw to mitigate false readings. Other than that great new review setup 👍
@RidgeRunner_Outdoors7 ай бұрын
Noticed this as well. During the 3rd shot of the vibration test I noted he got the 10 reading while hitting the back wall, but only 8 during the shot. Meaning the meter showed a 10, but that max was hit during the draw not the shot.

@engineerz_hero6771 The use of 😅 means I am slightly taking the piss... but what I'm saying is built off recent events. I guess predominantly the reason is, from my perspective, we're the recent staff changes. There's definitely some unhappy people and I'm not just talking about Tim and Kyle. Another extremely high profile Target archer who you probably don't know unless you followed the world archery scene in the early 2000s was also extremely displeased with Bowtech.
