Hey, y'all! In this video, I will show you how to do box braids on natural hair without extensions. These box braids, also called mini braids, are the perfect prep step for distressed faux locs. As a 12 year old white gurl who just went to Fiji and got her hair braided, this helped so much. I had to take my front two braids out after 3 days because they were so messy and done poorly, (the rest of my hair was fine surprisingly), this helped me so much to redo it!

Im a 42 year old male with tourettes, and i braid my own hair, the only thing i struggle with is making it tight, the whole braid is tight but the top.. i do 24 braids every other day, it takes 2 hours for 24, i enjoy your videos, you teach me what i dont know. You rock.

Please help! If the hair in question is on a mixed girl with 3B hair will the braids still stay in with just twisting the hair? Is there something else I need to do?

I only twisted at the ends due to laziness, you can braid all the way down and it should stay better.

This style was a prep for my distressed locs so I can't tell you how long this set lasted. However you can literally wear this until your hair starts to loc up. And no, use whatever products work for you!

I’m really bad at tucking 😭 but it’s about using the right density of braiding hair for your section so you can actually tuck your hair inside and braiding tight enough so your hair can’t come peaking out.

I'm half black and half asian so my hair is really messed up texture wise it's all over the place(somedays its wavy somedays it's super poofy with some curls it might be supposed to be curly but likely very damaged from years of treating it wrong but I have yet to find anyone else with my type of hair to help me so i just roll with it). Would securing the ends with rubberbands be okay because it tends to unravel. Sorry for rambling.
