It's a great tool, and can be used as a great Edge tool in a self-defense situation. If you're trained with knives then you understand where to cut. And this can be very effective in the right hands and very deadly

And don't let the rectangular blade holder behind the razor fool you. As soon as that razor makes the first entry into an assailant, the rest of the thing will easily push through just like a regular knife blade.

I love my Milwaukee fastback. It's a TOOL in the legal/law's eyes. It's not a weapon. I carry this instead of my pocket knives. Honestly, the box cutter is the BEST improvised weapon on this earth. So sharp.

I used to carry a Gerber eab lite. Would use it for whenever I didnt want to get my other knife dirty. Was pretty cool, but the blades would rust faster than the edge would dull. I could loan you my Gerber if you want to try something a bit smaller.

In a real emergency, the entire blade cartridge of those folding utility knives can still EASILY enter a human body and then twisted and throttled to create MASSIVE fight stopping wounds. Remember, human and animal bodies are like tough jello in consistency. As soon as the blade edge of that Husky enters, the rest of the assembly can be easily pushed through. An experienced defensive knife user does not just stab. He closes the distance, thrusts his weapon in, then maintains a grip on the opponent while twisting and yanking the blade and not letting go until the threat is fully neutralized.

I carry one everyday at work and off. I usually have my titanium leatherman charge if I need anything else. As far as cutting goes, 9 out of 10 times I use the husky box cutter.

Major con for this knife is that you can't open it one handed unless you lap the round part of the tang that locks to the rocker bar. The round part is manually ground so it is different from knife to knife making it stiff to open. By lapping the round part and working it to be smooth you can open the knife with the thumb pin halfway and then you can flip the knife open. The trend these days is for one handed flip open utility knifes like the Milwaukee Fastback or Kobalt 56653 Speed Release Utility Knife.

I don't have trouble using it one handed typically

If Id need it for work, sure. But just in my day to day life I don't really need a box cutter, and if the need arises ill go grab one out of my toolbox. Its not like I am going to the grocery store and suddenly need to lay some carpet, I hope...

I’ve just ordered a fastback, I’ve been carrying a Victorinox Swiss champ for 2 years. And fancy trying out a edc utility knife. I love the idea of just changing the blade when dull.

Thinking about carrying one of the bigger slide switch box cutters on the non dominant side of my duty belt as a "get off my gun" knife. Cheap, simple big controls for adrenaline shaky hands and looks alot better than a push dagger in front of a jury.

They allegedly used box cutters during 911 to hijack the flights. The planes are what hit the buildings but it was our complacency mixed with a unassuming little blade in the hands of an underestimated adversary that brought about one of the most devastating attacks in our nation's history. If used correctly a cheap, tiny little box cutter can destroy buildings.

The US government is who perpetrated 911. #jetfueldoesntmeltsteelbeams
@krwiles
@krwiles 2 жыл бұрын
@@TerriblyTactical it wouldn't surprise me if the US government did perpetrate 911. My main point was a lot of people don't consider a simple box cutter as being high-speed or Tactic-Kewl enough to EDC. They cost less than almost anything in the knife market. Replacements are readily available everywhere. Razor sharp out of the box. When you are getting worn out just flip the blade to "Side-B" like a cassette tape. Replacement blades are cheap, everywhere, and literally razor sharp. It's a very handy tool for automotive, home repair, and virtually anything else. According to convicts, thugs, and terrorists its a highly effective weapon. It's biggest flaws are range and inability to penetrate deep to reach vital organs. However It's stealthy, nasty, dirty, personal close, and most never notice it until too late or after the fact when they are bleeding, profusely. It's almost scarier when visible because who the hell wants fight a crazy man with a razor blade. Bang for buck its probably one of the best blades out there.
