Lily and I live in Australia and it's illegal to dock tails here now.

Oh. I live in the U.S. and I see some dogs with their tails docked especially boxers and pit bulls.

+TomboyGamerGal Yeah it was the same here but they made it illegal around ten years ago. Our last boxer had her tail docked but that was 16 years ago. I couldn't imagine Miss Lily without her tail (even though I've been whipped by it more than a few times!)

Is it not something to do with the fact that their tail is rather strong and when it wags like crazy, they can break their leg or cause some injury to themselves? Im no expert, I think I read this online so for all we know theres 0% truth in it!

+Harvles93 Hahaha no no :) They made it illegal as it was deemed cruel and unnecessary because dogs use their tails for balance and communication. It took me a while to get used to though, considering every boxer we'd had previously had had their tails docked. I used to think that they looked very strange with a tail but like I said before, I couldn't imagine Miss Lillian without it now :)

It's very common to dock their tails, our last boxer had a docked tail. However we live in Australia and it's illegal to dock tails and ears here now. Took me a while to get used to it but I couldn't imagine my little wiggle bum Lily without it 😅

I just went to bed, mine would eventually lay in hers when I turned the tv off. Otherwise she'd go out the doggie door for a while and bark and moan or whine at the stars and moon. Good thing my neighbors knew what she was like and they liked her.
